Hi, I've bought a Teddy bear with a voice recorder to give to the little boy i'm adopting. Just after some ideas of what I can say into it if anyone's willing to help. He's 3 if that makes any difference. Thanks.

I gave my DS a bear with a recording before introductions. He was younger (12 months) and I did a nursery rhyme. It felt like a bit of a weird concept. I didn't want to do a 'Hello, this is mummy' type message as it would have sounded strange coming out of a bear, so it was a chance for him to get used to my voice, but not an introduction or even message as such. I think if I were doing one now for a three-year-old I'd be looking for a quote, rhyme or excerpt from a kids' book, something about family, love, warm hugs, etc.

I did the lullaby I do when I did ours - and foster carer played it lots before she came, and then that was the lullaby I still do now. Its so short but helped I think.

I like the lullaby idea, especially if you don't know whether LO already has a teddy with a voice recording on from birth family. Ours does and it wasn't mentioned until we started going through his memory box with their FCs.

We sang nursery rhymes. We put one in each paw then slept with it before intros so it smelt of us.
