And it is really interesting.

Is it on their website? I might send dh out in a bit, but I expect it will have already sold out at the newsagent.

donnie · 06/10/2007 15:12

not sure, it probably is - I can hang on to it if you want me to send it to you ( after the strike finishes!)

Ooh that would be very kind of you donnie. Thanks. I'll let you know whether dh has had any luck or not.

WendyWeber · 06/10/2007 16:05

this is the main feature in Family, is there something else as well?

(DH has bought one but hasn't brought it home yet)

bran · 06/10/2007 17:12

It's a whole 8-page section WendyW.

DH managed to get a copy donnie, but thanks for your kind offer anyway. I'm off to slump on the sofa and read it now while dh cooks. We're just about to start our assessment to adopt a second child so it will be very interesting I think. Thanks for pointing it out.

Kewcumber · 06/10/2007 23:04

are you really bran - must persuade you to a city meet-up so I can ask you about it... are you doing domestic or overseas?

WendyWeber · 06/10/2007 23:10

Good luck with your second one then, bran

(kewc, are you also thinking about another?)

bran · 06/10/2007 23:41

We're doing domestic Kewcumber, ds is a local, a true blue cockney and we're hoping that it won't be too long a wait for our second one. They do have quite a lot of mixed race asian/white children in Tower Hamlets, where we live. Although we had a long wait for ds because they wouldn't place a half Bangladeshi child with a non-muslim family, I asked a few leading questions and they seem to be less hard-line about it now, probably because it was so hard to find the right families otherwise. With ds we got him because his bm was white and his bf was unknown, but he looked half asian/Bangladeshi.

Thanks Wendy.

donnie - thnaks for posting this, picked up a copy and thought it was really quite good

Kewcumber · 07/10/2007 12:45

you might think that WW but I couldn't possibly comment .

Anyhow wouldn;t only really be just considering it because I wouldn't be allowed to apply until DS is readopted in UK. Would like to consider a mixed race UK adoption though which may be possible now that I have DS.

bran · 07/10/2007 12:48

Are there likely to be many partly Kazakstani children up for adoption in the UK Kewcumber? If so I would imagine it would put you in quite a strong position.

JackieNo · 07/10/2007 12:49

Wow Kew. You're amazing. (that goes for you too, bran).

Kewcumber · 07/10/2007 12:52

probably none Bran! but my sw seemed to think that some agencies would place any mixed race eurasian child with a child who looked similar. His BM would have been moslem.

I think it's more likely I will have to go ICA then convert (IYSWIM!) if a domestic choice came up.

If I were considering it, which of course I may not be...

Kewcumber · 07/10/2007 12:53

also akzakh are very similar both genetically and culturally with many other central asian and northern chinese races.

Who knows...

WendyWeber · 07/10/2007 12:58

Just seen your most recent pics of DS, kewc - the pirate outfit and the bucket - he is so gorgeous! (and getting so big!)

Kewcumber · 07/10/2007 14:48

he is georgeous isn;t he - and is (for the first time) getting onto the charts for his calendar age wihout discounting for prematurity which is very good news, often the tiny premmies take much longer to catch up.
