After 2 years of keeping my employer informed all through my adoption assessment, I am now being considered for an early permanence placement and my manager is challenging that I can start my adoption leave with very little notice. I have tried explaining that this is common with fostering to adopt but she is being difficult about it. I feel even more stressed now! Has anyone else been in this position? I am right in thinking that I am not legally required to give notice? I will give as much notice as I can but it is out of my control really.
