Introductions delayed

Our introductions have been delayed because they've just realised the ADM is going to be on holiday the week after panel. Obviously gutted but I appreciate these things happen. The question now is whether I finish work a week later than planned or take a week off before intros start? I had originally planned to finish up work on the thurs and start intros on the Monday but now thinking I could use this as extra week as an opportunity to have some down time. We are already really organised so won't have much to do in the way of planning. Just wondering what other people did and whether you took any holiday before starting intros? Thanks.

I took a week off before intros, and I am so glad I did. Did a full spring clean, last bits of prep etc.

Intros are so full on, our feet didn't touch the ground.

Even if all the practicalities are ready, I would still take a week off to get some down time, even if it’s just to read a book. Your life is about to change completely and a break in between work and new family will be good for your soul. All the very best, so exciting! x

I left a week before intros, I had a couple of meetings and went on a training course relevant to us. It was useful to get out of work mode and into mum mode
Congratulations!

Thanks so much both for sharing your experiences. Sounds like it might be a blessing in disguise. Although, obviously I wish he was home right now. Smile

Whatever works best for you both emotionally and financially is the Jones answer to that. I finished work a few days early in order to scrub the house. Partly so it was clean and ready for our LO to come home to and partly just to burn off all the nervous energy I had. Also it gave me a chance to do some last minute safety checks.

Take all the downtime you can. Intros are unbelievably exhausting.

I’d take the time off and use it for serious me time - in whatever that takes for you. Get some rest, give your head and heart time to brace itself for the changes about to come your way.

I finished the day before intros started & I've been absolutely goosed... just finished day 5 of 10 into intros.

If you've got the spare time, go for it. Even if you don't get dressed for a week & read a dozen books it'd be absolutely worth it

We had a family holiday the week before intros. Was quite good, but, (in hindsight) would have preferred more work before hand and more time off after.

I worked right up to the wire and it was a bad idea! I'd take the extra time, make some things for the freezer, tidy and most of all declutter, plus read up, and, oh yes, rest.

Good luck. Flowers

I finished work at 7pm on the Monday and started intros the next morning! However, it worked well for me as I think it helped to keep a lid on my nerves as I was so busy at work. I was really anxious about intros and I definitely benefitted from the distraction.
