Ds (6) has massive anxiety issues plus what comes across as adhd. He is v intelligent and socialble but also manic, dreadful sleepover, huge meltdowns. He obsesses over things (death) and plays obsessively with certain things.
Paediatrician has said he doesn't display enough traits of autism (makes eye contact and sociable) nor for adhd (intelligent so shows he can focus etc)
We have evidence that birth mom drank and took drugs from when ds was concieved through to atleast 6 months pregnant (not consrantly as far as we know but when arrested was drunk, turned up for appts was etc etc)
Ds hasn't got obvious facial features of fas.
Paediatrician says large chance of fasd so having blood tests to start it all off next month.
Has anyone gone through process of having child diagnosed for fasd to be told no?

Rather complicated 1st call would be for child too be referred to Genetic clinic too rule out any other underlying condition or chromosome disorder's . FAS FASD is just an umbrella term for the condition of alcohol related disorder of which their are many, hence when people read up on FAS fasd many conclude it fits my child's behaviours etc. Is a complex condition if child has FAS FASD and will need perhaps life time support , is a kin too brain injury. Will take a long time too diagnose , but no reason why therapeutic FAS FASD intervention can be used in the interim will not harm any child just helps one too understand how a child see's and behaves and perceives their world.
