Just jumping over from the conception/infertility boards.
We have unexplained infertility and I’m in doubt as to whether natural pregnancy will happen for us. We were considering IVF but I’m now leaning more towards adoption. I have a 9 year old daughter from a previous relationship and would love her to have a sibling maybe a few years younger but that she can connect with better (she says babies are boring!)
Me and my partner are both 28, very healthy, non-smokers who have been together almost 6 years. However we don’t own our home, we rent and I wondered if this is the kind of thing that would get an application rejected as maybe it’s deemed not financially stable.
I have some experience of adoption as my auntie and uncle adopted two children as my auntie couldn’t conceive naturally due to severe ill health. Although they were 3 and 4 when they were adopted, they have no real issues due to their past which is fantastic. Obviously that’s one thing I would have to consider especially if we were looking at a child in kind of the 6-7 age range.
Anyway, I have no idea about any of this and intend to start doing some serious research before making a final decision as to whether or not this is the right path for us but any advice or info anyone could give me would be great!
