Introductions book

Can anyone give me any advice about how to do an introductions book for matching panel? We have only just found out we have to do one, but haven't been told what to do or what it should look like. Is it just a book of photos of important people or do we need to write something too? We don't have long until panel, so whatever it is, it will need to be quick!

I did mine using photo box, which turned out to be really good quality. I'm quite into design and liked doing it - a scrapbook with photos, or printed and in a ring binder would work ok too.

We already had some professional photos of AD, so I used on on the cover, then used a cartoon picture of our dog (you can use toy they then are given with the book) to introduce the pages - "hello xxx, this is your new home" - photo of house
"This is the kitchen, what's your favourite dinner?"
I left the photos of us until half way through - silly photos of us playing with toys and making faces. No photos of anyone else!

I finished up with some photos of the local playground, and saying we were excited about her coming to live here.

Lots of bright colours and silliness "this is the bathroom - I like to sleep in the sink" (cuddly toy in sink).

Good luck!

I feel for you - we found out about the deadline for ours at 48 hours notice. Duncan has covered a lot of it - it's really an introduction to you and the kids' lives with you. So pictures of anything important like house, where they'll be sleeping, pets, etc, should all be in there. The writing should be sort of captions, along the lines Duncan's outlined

Our DD was only 8 months old at placement so we stuck in some sensory stuff, like a bit of blanket on the picture of the cot.

We laminated all the pages (laminator and pouches came next day delivery from Amazon Prime), hole punched them, and bound them with ribbon.

Time to get your Blue Peter on...

Let us know if you have any more questions.

My two were a bit older so I scrapbooked their photo books, lots of photos of the house, school and close relatives, lots of stickers and tiles spelling out captions etc not much written stuff at all. We did write a letter to each of them saying how excited we were that they were going to be our children.

We did a talking photo book and a scrap book.

All the things above.

Plus we included pictures of things we knew he liked. Eg horses and said we can visit a farm etc.

I ordered a child's photo album from Amazon which had space for 7 photos. It was padded fabric with different sensory items on/in it. I had photos ( which I laminated) taken with myself and a teddy in various places around my home. E.g, front of the house, sitting at kitchen table, in their bedroom and garden. The teddy was from Build a bear store. I recorded myself welcoming my little one to his new home and brief words explaining the photos in the album. The teddy and the album were given a week before introductions started.
