I'm watching the dIy Sos programme where they built a new house for the adoptive family

2 guys - 4 kids, 3 with severe special needs. They look to be doing an amazing job with the the kids.....no doubt about that.

i'm only 10 minutes into the programme

Am I the only person wondering how they were approved at matching panel for numbers 3 & 4 when their tiny bungalow was so dire and full with medical supplies for their first 2 children?

My LA would never have allowed us to be approved without a bedroom to put the kids in.....

I said this v thing to my husband the other day. We are fcs and i am baffled frankly. We do disabled fostering and have an 11 yr old with complex needs and have just adopted our youngest fc who also has complex need. So we also have a house full of wheelchairs and medical equipment but luckily it is a big house with 5 beds but no spare ones at present( as we also have birth children.) I would love to take on another one but we cannot as no spare bedroom available ! There is no room (pardon the pun )for manouever at all so i just dont get it ! I thought it was a legal requirement !?

Yeah I was wondering the same. We lived in a very large 2 bed flat with our birth son when we were adopting first time round. Despite the fact we could have easily split a room we were told we needed to move.

Yep, wondered the same (which I mean as no reflection on them at all.)
