Have a feeling that my little lad will not be dainty enough for ballet. Although he is currently quite petite (obviously have no idea what his genes are like so no idea what build he will be ultimately), but he is a bit of a bull in a china shop. Not sure my rugby skills are up to coaching, though I can yell advice from the terraces with the best of them...

ComeOVeneer · 02/05/2007 16:37

Sue ds could join your ds for rugby, although he is currently trying to copy dd as she has recently started ballet so the 2 of them prance around the house like 2 daint elephants . In terms of rugby, ds certainly looks the part in stature, plus the whopping great shinner he is sporting atm from a collision with a garden wall at the weekend adds to the look.

suejonez · 02/05/2007 16:39

my ds has a series of small grazes and bruises on his forehead from his learning to walk efforts, they would make a good pair.

BigGitDad · 02/05/2007 16:40

My wife has been following your story Suejonez and says how well you have done with Daniel (if that is the right way to put it)
As I am sure you know the good thing about rugby is that there is a position for everyone so whatever size Daniel turns out to be he will be fine.
My old club is Beccehamians RFC (They have a good web site) and they have an active mini section too, in fact on a Sunday they take more money over the bar with the parents than they do on a saturday night after the rugby! That makes me laugh. But by the sounds of it mini rugby has a great social side to it.
Fingers crossed for the future..

How is the walking coming? Soon you will be cursing when you spend you day chasing him all over the shop a la mini COV.

suejonez · 02/05/2007 16:47

yes thats what I like about rugby - a spot for all shapes but lets be honest at mini rugby level it doesn't matter what they're like (does it ). Why does your wife think I have done well with him (curious not plugging for compliments)

Cov - his walking is coming along a treat, he walks like a person most of the time now not like a wooden-top. The big development this morning was the squat down and stand up again (which he has been trying to do all week and falling over). He looks so pleased with himself, bless.

Calif - haven't forgotten your DS's coins but my purse was nicked with all my coins in it , someone is coming back shortly and I've asked them to get some for me.

Califrau, do you think I am poaching? Not at all. If Suejonez wants her son to play for London Welsh then Wales then the British lions, so be it....
But I'll be the first in the line to ask for match tickets.. (Wales V England games only of course!)

suejonez · 02/05/2007 16:50

was more about the Kazakh coins as they are DS's (and your DS's too ) but it was my own fault, think my purse fell out of my pocket as I got in the car and of course too much to expect it to still be there 30 mins later...

Also had my drivers licence in it which is a pain in the neck

Calif I might agree with you but I think quality of welsh thighs is substantially poorer than it was... Italian team do have some things going for them (in addition to rapidly improving rugby skills)

BigGitDad · 02/05/2007 17:06

No comment on thighs, Welsh or English other than the fitness issue of Jonny Wilkinsons thighs and whether they are working or not.
Suejonez I will ask my wife tonight to rerun the conversation we had about you so I can remember. Typical male very poor memory!

BigGitDad · 02/05/2007 20:47

Sorry Suejonez my wife said (as I stand corrected!); That the story of Daniel's adoption is a remarkable story, and a lovely one too and that you have done really well going through the adoption process.
I have had a brief look at the web site too and it is really impressive.
Ahem, I'll listen more carefully in future!

BigGitDad · 03/05/2007 10:52

I see where you are coming from now Califrau, did not realise you were a girl from the valleys too! (My wife explained that one to me as well!)
Did you really make your son take a leek into school?

suejonez · 03/05/2007 11:15

Much clearer now BGD - now pay attention at the back there in future. Our school used to rekk of leeks n St Davids day as you'd always get at least one boy who couldn;t resist showing how hard he was by eating his leek... [doh, boys! emoticon]

Ah ha! Took me ages to find this thread..
Thought of you and Daniel today when I saw a client who is adopting a girl from Kosovo. His wife (they are both Kosovan) is currently out there with their baby girl waiting for the right papers so she can come home. She has been out there for 18 months already and the whole thing has been complicated somewhat by the fact that the area is governed by the UN at the moment. (so I was told)
Anyway the guy is so excited and was showing me pictures of the lovely daughter. He said children give you a purpose in life, they make you so alive. Which was said in his Kosovan accent which I thought was a lovely thing to say bless him.
