Iam a bit put out my sw is really lovey however we fundermatly disagree on matching she said after us enquiring about a child with development delay that she wants to to look for normal children so we can have a happy life

I did remind her my BC has development delay and we have both a normal and happy life thanks also were exprinced foster carers and also have adopted this is not our first rodeo also oh is a nurse so is well able to assess medically what's what

She sounds like a rather inexperienced SW

I agree she sounds inexperienced. Most social workers would be delighted that you are asking to take a child with delays as they are harder to place.
Besides, since when does delays mean unhappy?

GirlsWhoWearGlasses · 02/12/2015 17:08

How odd. Do you have any kind of matching profile in writing? That sheet you fill in with the Would Accept, Would Consider, Would Not Accept?

Italiangreyhound · 02/12/2015 19:31

Tamponlady stay calm and see how it goes. She sounds like she is trying to be 'nice' but is not listening to you. I hope she will soon see how competent you are and wake up to the fact she is not in control, ultimately, of who you adopt or of whether you are happy (or normal). Good luck. You sound amazing.

So 'normal' children = 'happy life'

Wow, just Wow

May be reason is that you are FC's they are inwardly concerned that you may wish too give up fostering after following the adoption route, from experience not uncommon.
