Adoption Support Fund

I know this has been mentioned in threads, but can I give it another plug? This is a big pot of money that, so far as I'm aware, has been made available as a one-off. Surprisingly often, pots of funding do not get used up because people don't know about them - and then it's harder to argue the case for them again. Use it or lose it, people!

If anybody doesn't know about it I'll scramble some links...

Agree Devora, There is lots of cash out there, but no coordination if you don't know you don't get, its so fragmentised, should all go too After adoption support , all children leaving care for permanency should be automatically be allocated funding without having too apply, needs or no needs balance of children who do not need support could be used for those who do need support over and above.

Adoption support, Pupil premium, Schools intervention funds, should be all be implemented statutory on leaving care rather than by on application.
LA's need too get together too peruse possibility's, Some are though Children's Minister Edward Timpson is in favour, think it will only be a matter of time before services will all be centralised.

My gripe with it is that you have to be assessed and I wonder how much of the ASF will be used to pay assessors rather than to help with the legitimate problems our children face.
I can't imagine any adopters I know asking for help because they want a freebie and so question the assessing part of this plan.
Personally when we needed some assistance, I was put off by the delays that would probably have been caused by waiting for an assessment appointment from a different county and subsequently didn't pursue it and paid as I needed help immediately not months down the line.
I wonder how many others feel like this.
It needs to be more straightforward IMO.

Some LA's are working together Extending PEP's , Using Virtual Head's, Training School's, introducing compulsory Teacher training inset days, in attachment's and Trauma which have too be done every two years. Controlling use of Pupil premium plus , using cash too access continuity of support in conjunction with annual PEP's.
This is all being watched by DofE and children's minister as it develops hope it is rolled out National will always be controversial unless all cash is stopped being used ad hoc as it is at the moment. , support needs to be placed as when and if needed. Annual Pep's is the only way of identifying additional need's as they occure , with on-going assessment and support .

Google Gareth Marr Adoption Train too get an insight of what's going on.
