Home with our little boy

Hi,
I'm a very proud mummy to a beautiful 2 year old boy!
We've been home 2 nights, eating normally, playing as he did at the FC's and slept 12 hours both night. Grin
I've spoken to the heartbroken FC every day who has a toddler sized hole in her life, she is amazing!
Our house and garden look like toy town but who cares!!!!
Managed to get home made dinners on the table both nights and the washing basket is empty - not sure that will last......
Life is good!

Wonderful news. And as a foster carer can I just say how lovely it is that you have given her the coutesy and respect to let her know how things are. Have a wonderful 'terrific two's' time with your new son x

Wonderful. Really great. When my friends have had babies in the past I always give two bits of advice, one is sleep when they sleep and 2 is read this poem. I don't know if you are at all religious but it feels right to say God Bless!

Song for a Fifth Child

by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She?s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I?ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping?s not done and there?s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there?s a hullabaloo
But I?m playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren?t her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I?ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I?m rocking my baby and babies don?t keep.

Congratulations.

Don't be afraid to use TV if you need time off, especially in this heat!

Don't be surprised if behaviour wobbles if he misses FC.

Enjoy this time, and remember you only have to be 'good enough' not perfect.

Best Wishes

Can only say what everyone else has: congratulations. I hope that you and your family are very happy together. Isn't it wonderful being in a family (with you as the parents, I mean)?

Thanks mybaby!
We thought it would never happen and the waiting really does pale into insignificance after placement and nothing but nothing prepares you for motherhood!
Our little boy is totally, unbelievably gorgeous and we still pinch ourselves that he's here forever.
Best of luck - dreams do come true xxxx
