Just sat here in the quiet, watching the rain pondering on how things will be different once I have a child placed. I dare say It wont be so quiet!!

I'm sitting quietly watching the rain too. My two are 12 and 13 now and they are at the table with me. One is doing his homework project and the other is reading a book. There hasn't been a peep out of either of them for about 20 minutes.

This is very unusual Grin.

ooh enjoy while you can shockers!! No peace for the wicked over here.... Grin

Of course a child is massive massive total change. I don't think anyone is ever fully prepared for a child and what it means. Especially if they're already a toddler (I think the age you're aiming for funny?) with an internal alarm set for 5.30-6.00AM every day without fail etc

But once you start getting used to the exhaustion, it's a wonderful change :)

Yep hopefully a toddler. I think your right about exhaution, I dont really think I realise how tired I will be, luckily I work shifts so I am used to not getting much or regular sleep.

I remember people saying to us, enjoy the peace etc. but all I wanted was children. Now we have the three of them,( who I love dearly) we would love the peace again Grin
You can always borrow our 3 for some hands on practice Grin

No, it won't be so quiet....and things like drinking a cup of tea or coffee whilst it's actually hot, will be a thing of the past, too!

I wouldn't change my new life for anything, though :)

When DS2 was very small, I was walking to the baby clinic and I fell asleep... whilst walking, pushing his pram.

In those days I would have done just about anything for a lie in and a coffee in bed.

He stopped getting up at 5.30 when he hit high school... he waits til 6 now Grin.

I spent 5 hours today watching my fab girl practicing a sport I barely knew existed! Satuyrdays spent sitting in a cafe reading the papers seem a long time ago...
