What is the best company to use for children's furniture?

We are looking for some reasonably priced, good quality children's furniture for my little girl's room. She is currently only 2, but is being moved into her big girl room as I am expecting another baby. We bought the Sophie furniture from Next, which took 6 weeks to be delivered and when we tried to put it together we found it to be flimsy and a bit dangerous, so returned it. Just wondering if anyone can suggest another company?

I'm not sure the Adoptions topic is hte best place for this thread- you may want to move it to Products. If you don't know your way around I can come back with a link to it if you like.

To answer your question, I should try IKEA. Sounds silly but they do good toddler furniture at very reasonable prices.

I second Ikea

People say Aspace is great, if you can afford it (I can't!). Ikea for me, all the way.

Sure. Having just redone my daughters room as she now has the pleasure of sharing it with her sister. Not because she has to... it's a better way for her to learn how to get along with her sibling.

Anyway, the best place for a bed is Dreams. Not only do they do a good low bed for the child to climb in and out of easily, but they have good memory foam mattresses.

Furniture your actually better off in Ikea and second hand stores. The reason being the kids are going to bash and "write about" it quite a bit. You can get a couple of tall cupboards for big toys and maybe a basket/bucket storage system for the loose stuff.

In clothes drawers I got some good oak second hand ones and stripped the paint. Then gave it a distressed look with a little varnish and sandpaper to make it look like an antique. Really brings out the room, I feel.

Oh and get some wall decals as these really bring interest to plain painted or wallpapered walls. They help break up the image of the room and used to good effect you will be as happy in there as the child.
