PhD - should DD be worried?

DD is 3 months into a PhD.
She called last night, really worried that her 1st supervisor is going to be overseas for 3 month blocks, probably twice a year. This was not disclosed at interview.
There is a second supervisor in the department. Meetings with the 1st supervisor will continue online but it's not the same as meeting in person (stem subject).
They are due to have a meeting to confirm candidature soon.
DD is unnerved and wants to know that she can walk away even after confirmation of candidature, if she struggle with lack of in-person support.
Her full intention is to work hard and succeed so this is more for peace of mind.
She is research-council funded.
Is anyone able to give any suggestions that might reassure her?

They're mocking the OP's over-involvement in her adult daughter's doctoral studies, not the DD's concerns.

anyway, if a parent who has no knowledge of PhDs asks our advice, so she can have a conversation about it with her DD, I don't think she should be mocked

I'm lucky. DD is very independent having moved away to complete a degree apprenticeship before starting her phd. She also calls me as a sounding board with concerns, and to give a balanced response I came here to find out more.
Many of the responses are indeed mean-spirited.
Your 'come and look' comment is exactly the kind of thing DD mentioned.
I have a stem PhD myself and benefitted hugely from in-person support 25+ years ago. Looking at data, tinkering with machinery that wasn't working, a chat over coffee - all invaluable.
While ever you can, keep up with the in-person meetings. Your students are lucky!
Knowing more about regularity of sabbaticals / incidences of remote supervision is useful for the bigger picture. DD is continuing to make good progress and is making the most of remote and 2nd supervision.
