Ipad or Kindle for reading journal articles & reports etc?

Do anyone has any advice on whether Ipads or Kindles are better for reading journal articles? Which do you prefer or do you have another option?

I prefer to print articles and read them, but it's not a sustainable option so I only use it for the ones that I need to refer to heavily over an extended period of time. I suffer terribly from very dry eyes (due to a condition) so really hate looking at a screen but needs must!!

Either. Depends on source of material to some extent. You should be able to download the kindle app onto your ipad ( and other ereaders). If you're an academic you could ask your institutions library.

I use iPad with the Goodnotes app which lets you scribble in the margins with a stylus - essential to my commenting on student drafts etc. works very nicely.

What else are you wanting it for? Kindle scribe might be a good option.

Thanks everyone @Slanketblanket it's just for reading pdfs for work and I don't think I'd use it for my own personal reading

If you're annotating then scribe would work well for that. I don't have one but have been looking into getting one although I tend to read PDFs as I'm writing so really just use mendeley as I make notes across word docs at the same time.

iPad with pencil and goodnotes app - you can download pdfs and annotate / highlight

I use a Samsung S7+ tablet and open PDFs in the Samsung Notes app, where I can scribble and highlight to my heart's content and then save the file.

I use Zotero on my iPad mini, it is a good size, portable and I turn down the brightness to reduce eye strain / I have very dry eyes too.

I'm late to this but I love my Kindle scribe. You can write notes and highlight in pdfs. . Depends what you prefer. I like kindle rather than a tablet because it's kinder to eyes.

I also used my scribe for all my work notes as it has notebooks.

Agree, kindle scribe works brilliantly for reading and annotating papers and for meeting notes, which can be exported as text
