"Evidence of Esteem, External Visibility & Professional Activities"

Could anyone help me with this? Hugely appreciated if you can.
What am I supposed to put down? There is no further application guidance to help me understand.

Context: I am a Research Associate applying for another Research Associate job. The text specifically says "You may not have finished your PhD yet." Under no circumstances ever do I wish to become a Lecturer or even a Research Fellow. I'm not an empire builder. But this is a field in the application form I have to somehow navigate, put something down. I know it's some kind of "BRAG here" indicator. I'm so unsure how to fill it in, though.

I have done a lot of media and some lay-person summaries for popular consumption. I think it's the "Esteem" thing that throws me. Do they only want people to apply who have done all these things? I have reviewed a lot (journals will take anyone...) and I can cite international projects I was part of. Not the rest, though.

I think you should view it more as a space that can be used to record such things. I presume that this is on the application form, in the "CV" part? In which case it is a generic box that is there for all applications, but would be read in the context of the actual post.

You can put the points that are relevant to you e.g. journal reviews, previous research projects and ignore the rest. It is not a comprehensive check list even for those applying for very senior positions - one would not expect a historian to have a patent or registered design, for example.

Actually, I'm a numpty, that section is optional, phew !

as above, that is a space to show off.

have you ever been given an academic prize? invited to give a talk in another university or at a symposium? invited to contribute to a paper or book chapter that isn't your primary research?

mention your international projects, and any talks you have given outside your home university.

they are looking for anything where some other academic thinks you are great.

Thanks... I did get a prize not long back, actually, good call. Few articles for The Convstn. Done some grant reviews (hilarious since I can't be a PI). I loathe public speaking, though <shudder>. I thought people paid for book chapters, now, those are all just scams.
