Hello, OP. You would be best to ask MNHQ to move your post to the Higher Education board.

We looked into this for our DC a few years ago. There are companies who match you up with colleges in the US for a fee.

We soon found out that bringing British kids over on a “scholarship” is just part of the colleges income stream to subsidise other students. We were looking at $25k a year fees, which isn’t really a scholarship at the end of the day. It was all very “woohoo, we’ve managed to get a brilliant scholarship for you!!” 🤔

A few of DC pals tried it out.
2 came home after one year. Said the coaching not that great. Travelling the length and breadth of US on a coach to compete with other colleges not so good.

Other kid stayed the full 4 years. Enjoyed it, made good friends, fab experience etc. Has not made any significant improvement in their sport and competes at same level with same cohort.

Obviously there will be top colleges looking for outstanding students offering much better scholarships. But there are many selling the American Dream to starry eyed kids (and parents) who get sucked into the hype.

Your DD will also need to sit SAT exams. I think it was end of 5th or 6th year? These were done on a Saturday morning at a local private school.

It is possible to do everything yourself but it's a much easier process if you contact an agent in the first instance.
Depending on your child's sports and academic ability it is possible to get a very high % scholarship but you'll still need to fund flights, spending money, day to day expenses etc for your DC, remember they won't be able to work in the USA on a study visa unless it's an on campus job.
