im half way through my first module Performance Management and already thinking 'whyyyy did I start?'

im just wondering which modules from the Skills section did you find the easiest and which did you find the most difficult?

I feel I want to go easier to difficult... that's why I decided to start with PM as I enjoy costing (well, I thought I did!)

will be interesting to hear others views

thanks!

I think the law paper is probably the easiest one to start off with. Did you check the pass rates for each of them in think the pm has one of the lower ones. The auditing one is ok too Tbh they all require hard work and application. Just make sure you do loads and loads of exam questions as the text books are miles away from the exam question standard. Just keep picking them off one by one and you will get there.

Confused Are you teaching it or learning it?

juicychops2 · 24/01/2020 18:54

thanks for your responses Sarah, im learning it

oh dear, no I didn't think to look at pass rates! im thinking of doing the law one actually, although I know it will be very wordy probably be better going to evening classes for that one rather than home study which im doing at the moment for PM.

Did you do classes or any home study?

I know they all have to be done at some point so I shouldn't worry too much, but I just think if I can get some easier passes under my belt, it will give me a confidence boost for the more difficult ones - hopefully!

Might be worth re-posting in another section? This one's for teachers in universities.

I think searching for "easier" papers is setting yourself up for frustration and also runs the risk of underestimating how much work you need to put in and what your exam answers should look like if you lull yourself into a false sense of security that you're doing an "easier" paper.

Other than starting at the first section I don't think you're going to find "easier" papers as such, just "achievable" ones.

Different people find different papers particularly challenging. And you'll probably have more surprises of discovering papers you thought you'd enjoy/sail through proving tedious/hideously difficult and vice versa.

I would focus on building your confidence by mastering the study and exam techniques necessary to pass the exams. Then you'll be set to progress. Plus, seeing those skills develop as you work through the exams (rather than solely thinking of ticking exams off the list) might help you sustain the motivation to carry on when it feels like you've got 742 exams left to go...

@juicychops2 you might get more responses in Higher Education. This section is a very quiet by-water where university academics discuss work.

And good luck with the exam!
