Can I re-enrol to get my masters

I signed up to a 5 year distance learning masters, very specific industry one. I had kids in the middle of it so withdrew after 3 years with my postgraduate diploma (with distinction!) as I had the minimum qualification I needed and have had a successful career since. For reasons I won't bore you with I would like to re-enrol to do the dissertation to get the full masters, I am beyond the 5 year limit since my initial enrolment.

Is this at all possible or an absolute no can do? I'm awaiting to hear back from the uni.

I'm guessing I'm asking if you've heard of people doing it, or is the answer nooooooooo!

Depends on the university and the rules of the course. Contact the university and ask them.

Even if it's a no from that university, it might be worth checking with other universities that run similar Masters programmes to see if you can transfer over at least some of your existing credits.

You may well be able to, as others have said it will be specific to that programme/university. You will likely need to return your PGDip as you can’t usually use the same credits twice for different qualifications but I’m sure you know that

Thank you, that makes sense that JD need to return it. I'm a bit nervous as my PG Dip was a distinction (just) so I'm worried a dissertation will bring it down. But I suppose a merit masters is better than a pg dip distinction.
