Regarding taking DD back to hospital because she hasn't passed the money she swallowed.

On Monday afternoon my daughter swallowed some money. It was about 1.30pm. We are not sure how much if it was 50p or 2p
we took her to the hospital and they took an xray. Sure enough it was there in her chest . (the pipe that runs down her chest). The hospital transferred her to the Royal London Hospital. By the time we got there and she had a progress xray it had gone. The hospital are saying that it could have moved to her bowel and she'll pass it naturally.
She had a poo yesturday morning less than 24 hours after swallowing the money . I had a quick glance, couldn't see anything and flushed it.
I'm kicking myself as I should have had a little root through.
Anyway learning from my mistake we are now on poop alert. We are going to prod with cocktail sticks.
She pooed this afternoon and DP went through it poking with a cocktail stick. Nothing.
She's only a once a day pooer .
My work colleague doubts it would have been in the first poo as it would have been to soon.
Anyway, how much longer shall I give it before I take her to the hospital? I was thinking either tomorrow morning or wait until Fridays poo see if it comes out then.

DD once swallowed a plastic jewel (the sort that children use foe arts and crafts) and that came through within 24hrs.

Luckily I didn't have to go poking and prodding as it was there on the surface of the poo, a pink shiny heart shaped gem for all to see

When DS2 was about 10 months he swallowed some money and it took bloody ages before it reappeared - at least a week, possibly more. Rooting through his nappy for a week was one of the highlights of that year . So don't panic - non-food things in the gut don't necessarily move along as fast as food.

Bit confused though re how it went from her chest to her bowel - the first X Ray must have been mis-read, surely?

it could well have been in the first poo. i reckon if she seems fine in herslef i wouldn't do anything else
if you're worried maybe just ring the hospital and see what they say?

The oesophagus is in more or less the same place on an x-ray as the windpipe. It wouldn't have gone through the windpipe into her oesophagus.

I'd pop her back to be on the safe side. I#d be concerned about it flipping. It may just take a while for it to go through though.
