I had a quick look and don't think anyone else has started a new thread?

Does anyone fancy/have time to post a list of emails or RL descriptions from the last thread, as a start point for new members to the gang?

OP posts:
silverfrog · 09/02/2010 10:47

oh, and forgot to say - well done T&F

brilliant (now to get breeding all those animals for the masteries!)

and congrats on the ribbon too - I've got loads to get, but I'll get there one day...

ToccataAndFudge · 09/02/2010 11:42

yes silverfrog is right - not much to do after level 33, going to be on this level for a week or so I think as I now need

Get 7 of each:
Sting ray, octopus, blue whale, dolphin, and orca.

Better finish up training my swift and eagle - been lazy the last few days with that - 1/2 there with the last eagle trick, only about 10% done on the swift

ToccataAndFudge · 09/02/2010 13:15

oooo - have just realised I'll get my rice mastery at midnight(ish) tonight - not tomorrow as initially thought

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 13:56

while idly sitting waiting for zoo days to tick over so I can train my birds, I noticed that I don't even have all the unlimited gift animals...

could anyone gift me a monkey, caribou or jaguar, please?

happy to take requests in return!

ToccataAndFudge · 09/02/2010 14:01

I've just posted a whole load of mystery gifts on the feed - may stlll be some avaialbe in you want something else to do.

with try and send you some of things a bit later

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 14:30

thanks lostinwales, got the jaguar

lostinwales · 09/02/2010 14:33

good, I'm always quite chuffed when I manage to put a MN name to a FB person (even though the list makes it really easy). I'm in pre-school pick up hibernation mode at the moment, sipping tea and trying to stay awake.

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 14:37

me too, another 20 mins and I set out once again on the 40 mile journey to get dd1...

still, we're moving soon, and so the ridiculous trek to school (SN school) will be halved at least!

ToccataAndFudge · 09/02/2010 14:42

god silver that sounds awful 40 miles

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 14:46

yep, I spend 4 hours a day taking dd1 to school/collecting her.

BUT it has been brilliant - she has settled in really well (she's ASD) and is progressign fantastically. and she's only been there a couple of months, so roll on the future

now, if we could just get the LEA to agree to fund her there, then life would be rosy!

lostinwales · 09/02/2010 14:48

Three minute walk here and yet I still manage to be late half the time (because I'm too busy on MN baking cupcakes and ironing.

ToccataAndFudge · 09/02/2010 14:49

5 second walk from my front door to infant school gates and I'm always late ) - well not late but usually one of the last "main group" of parents to arrive.

lostinwales · 09/02/2010 14:51

cross post but my DS1 has just been diagnosed developmental coordination delay and ASD, we're lucky though as the mainstream secondary has a unit there for SN and he can get the school bus with all his mates. Nightmare to have to need funding.

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 15:00

god, i can only dream of miutes or seconds long school runs

the best we can do, wrt moving, is to get somewhere 20 miles away, as we can't move county otherwise the (paltry) statement we do have for dd1 will cease, adn start again in new county (who are sods, and we would absolutely no way get funding) - if we stay in county, we have a pretty decent shot when it comes to tribunal in 6 months time...

liw- dd1 is prtty severe, and ha a huge language delay. the best we can hope for her is semi-independent living, I reckon, although never say never etc etc. Sn unit at mainstream sounds great - staying with your peer group (if applicable, dd1 is scared of most children!) is a very important thing, especially at secondary

lostinwales · 09/02/2010 15:14

We're very luck in that DS1 is at the quite 'normal' (if I can say that, it's all a bit new) end of the ASD spectrum. It's always been obvious he's a little different but only now he is getting older is it causing proper problems with school work etc. He's got that classic astonishingly clever at some things but crap at eye contact/human interaction type of personality.(does that just make him male ) And a very lovely group of friends in a small primary who love him as he is. He just falls over/walks into things/wanders into roads/has no sense of danger or well, sense, really. I bought him a t-shirt with 'random' written across the front as it summed him up perfectly. Oh boy and now I'm waffling and I'm going to be late for DS3 see ya later.

MumofOscar · 09/02/2010 17:13

Bilblio found you now and added you.

Well done Tocatta on your latest acheivements! Hope we'll still be getting collectables from you though?

Silver 40 miles is huge! DS SN school is 14 miles away and i thought that was bad! Although he does get picked up and brought home by county transport so its only when i need to go there that theres a real issue.

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 17:32

lostinwales - I suspect that's where dd2 will end up, spectrum-wise (she is 2, and supposedly NT, but showing a few too many traits for my liking) - she's bright enough to mask the problem for a while yet, iyswim.

hope you weren't too late - I'm forever haring up at the last minute - toilet training and spending hours on the motorway don't really go together, and we're forvever having to stop to let dd2 have a wee etc... you should join us on the SN board if you have any questions - there's a load of experience over there, and we're a pretty friendly bunch

Mumofoscar - it's our choice that it's 40 (well, partially anyway). there is a SN school closer, but it doesn't suit dd1. where she is now is intensive 1-to-1, and suits her perfectly. we have the option of transport too, but we are trying to use it to bargain with the LEA, ie we won't charge you £20k for transport if you'll let us choose the school...

Niecie · 09/02/2010 17:56

LostinWales and Silverfrog - Blimey I had to do a double take there when I saw you taking about SN. I have just started a thread about the move from primary to secondary. My DS1 has also mild AS and dyspraxia which hasn't caused a problem at school until now, when we have to start thinking about his next school

Are either of your children nearing secondary age?

Oh we live next door to the primary my two go to! If we could chuck them over the hedge they would be in school in seconds. As it is it takes, oh, 3 or 4 minutes.

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 18:00

mine's not secondary age - she's only 5 , but lostinwales was talking about secondary transfer.

there's loads of people about with AS pre-teens though, iirc, so hopefully someone will be along to help you out.

Oh gosh and Mumofoscar you have a SN child as well!

Do us mothers with SN children have a particular vulnerability to getting addicted to farm and zoo games!?

I suppose they do take your mind of RL very well don't they?

Sometimes I even forget I have a RL!!

silverfrog · 09/02/2010 18:02

it is turning inot SN central a bit - we'll take over the world next hahahahaha!

MumGoneCrazy · 09/02/2010 18:03

MumGoneCrazy · 09/02/2010 18:04
