HELP!!!
My boyrfriend has asked me to go to his dad's funeral which is in a few days time. I got my outfit picked out so that i can put it aside and iron everything the night before. The outfit I chose was all black as that is what I have worn to previous funerals.
However, I have since been told by my boyfriend to not dress all in black and specifically, to not dress as though I'm going to a funeral. He said he will dressing sharp and as mod as possible in honour of his dad who was a mod in the 60s.
What the hell do I wear???

you could still do all black, with a bright scarf or coat on top, or a nice bright white shirt under your black top iykwim...

think about if you were going to a posh bar for the night, and tone it down a bit...iykwim?

sorry to hear about your bf dad. hope the funeral is ok for you. x

What about muted tones of other colours? That way it's not all black as your BF has said but still respectful.

Do you have any dark teal, burgandy, midnight blue type colours?

Alternatively the black with coloured scarf suggestion is really good.

I like the idea of thinking as though I were going to a posh bar. Kind of sums up what bf said. Unfortunately, I have no other dark coloured tops. It's either black or very very very casual. Not the kind of thing I would wear to a funeral.

Been giving this a lot of thought and I'm thinking it's gonna be black jeans (sounds bad but those are the smartest trousers I have), black heels, a long sleeved black top and on top of the black top, a vest/dress (grey with bits of red, yellow, green and cream) My description of the vest probably doesn't do it justice but I've worn it to some very posh restaurants in the past without so much as a second glance from anyone.
