DS who is 8 has a carol concert on the 10th December, where he is singing a small solo and has a solo reading.

Unfortunately it clashes with a concert I have tickets for (Lily Allen) and I am going with a friend.

I feel awful if I miss DS's concert, especially as I missed last year as DH didnt get back from work in time, but I dont want to let my friend down.

WWYD??

Friend vs. DS?

DS would win. No matter how much of a brave face he puts on it, he would mind. My DS would not complain but would, I know (from experience - it was work and unavoidable) be v.v. sad.

Treat yourself to Lily Allen another time.

As the others say, it depends on your DS.

Mine would be devastated if I missed his little bit of limelight.

How much do you like Lily Allen? If you're her biggest fan and have been looking forward to it for months, then go. If it's just a bit ok, something to pass the time, then go and watch your son.

rhubarb - told her daughter she was there - and she wasn't - i think she was down the pub if i remember correctly.

these things are hugely dull.

i would so go to lilly allen - without a second thought and completely lie to the kid saying that you might be a bit late in - but you will deffo be there.
