not means tested

no questions asked

cash paid straight into bank account by Govt 'to help you with your wider costs in the run up to your baby's birth'

we don't need it
we didn't expect it

would it be silly to donate it to somwhere that deserves more govt money but doesn't get it (NCT, Baby Cafe, local SCBU etc)?

or should I keep it and spend it on handbags and yoga classes?

handbags and yoga

Scorps · 08/07/2009 19:22

if oyu really don't need it (washable nappies? they're ace ) you could buy yoga classes and donate the rest. You sound vey kind

thisisyesterday · 08/07/2009 19:22

aww, io think it would be a relaly lovely gesture to donate it to baby cafe or scbu.

or maybe you could split it. half to donate and half to get youtself something special?

tis second child
got washable nappies
yoga classes already in budget
rolling in handbags

maybe I should spend it on expensive baby yoga classes...

Donating it would be lovely, but what would also be lovely is a nice maternity dress that is going to make you feel fab!

I found out about this last week and couldn't quite believe I was going to be 'given' nearly £200 I was unaware of. I thought it's probably going to go on something for DD rather than the newbie (new toddler bed or something).

Good for you for being altruistic!

Oooh why don't you split it and put it in your kids trust funds?
