Things we do - forgetting we do not have our children with us!

Today I waited for the green man to appear despite a clear road, and lots of people crossed the road whilst I stayed awaiting the green man's appearance!

I have also taken a lift when I could have used an escalator!

And yes I have been heard to say "wheee!" when pushing a supermarket trolley but without my child!

It is amazing what you can carry on doing without children, forgetting the protocol of adult life!

In the middle of my driver test, I turned to the rather stern tester and said ' Oooh look at the nice green tractor' as one went past.

DH once went 'beep beep' as he was trying to get past a very senior person in the corridor at work.

I have pushed in colleagues' glasses if they are near the edge of the table during meals!!

I went out to a club recently and started dancing like I do with my 21mo. I have officially forgotten how to dance properly.

I have just been and done a huge end of month shop at Morrisons, and became aware of myself on several occasions talking to my trolley

"right shall we go and buy some cheese now"

"ooo lets get you stocked up on nappies"

"what cereal do you think your brothers would like"

then I'd glance at the pushchair I was pushing and realise it was actually a trolley

I gave my parents a lift to the airport and asked them if they'd been to the toilet before they got in the car.
And listend to an entire Famous Five CD in the car before remembering I could listen to Radio 4 if I wanted to.

DH stirred in his sleep the other night and was shuffling about trying to get comfortable. As a seasoned co-sleeper and extended bfer, I rolled over, lifted my top and offered him a nipple to help settle him.

Now, my dh- like most other hetero males -isn't calmed down by his mate offering him a nipple.

In my defence, dd is teething and had already woken 4 times and needed milk to settle down. I was exhausted. And confused.
