not sure if true but blimey!:

Never thought of her as a running/gym type person so wonder how on earth she has got to the level of fitness needed whilst remaining...erm...so tiny!?

As a keen runner myself I will be watching keenly to see if she does it...respect to her if she does although will be a bit jealous as would love to do a marathon..got first rejection from London this year!

DrNortherner, you might have heard of osteoporosis - there is naturally skinny and then there are those who starve themselves to be skinny. Sadly I am not one of the former but I am not stupid enough to try and be one of the latter.

And believe me, fat people are slagged off all the time. It is the only acceptable form of abuse these days.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 01/11/2008 15:42

TwoIfByScream: I hardly think that slagging off fat people is an acceptable form of abuse! I don't think anyone would say it is acceptable. However, I do understand where DrN is coming from. I'm fairly slim myself and people are forever making reference to everything being alright for me because I'm "skinny". I actually find that term very offensive and wouldn't dream of making fun or a joke about anyone else's size - regardless of whether it is big or small.

TwoIfBySea · 01/11/2008 16:19

Ah but you see, while slim is what everyone aspires to if you happen to be of a larger size then people can and do find it resonable to be rude to your face. No matter how hurtful the comments may be. And it is acceptable regardless of how wrong that is.

While most would, whether they admit it or not, love to be thought of as "skinny" the very idea of being anything over a size 12 is repulsive. Discounting the fact that someone of healthy weight could very likely be a size 16.
