That thread we had a year or so ago 'tell me something about you and I'll tell you what you look like' Can we have another one?

I am working (marking) but I am bored and would like something to do in between!

Okay so yes, that's a bit about me above. I live in a bungalow. I'm mid-forties.

If you don't want to say what someone might look like you can say something else you've guessed about them instead.

I think the bungalow is a red herring. So you don't live there due to any mobility issues. I think you lead a very active life, so you are a healthy weight? Who knows. Other than that, I may as well say I'm in my 60s and live in a maisonette. It's not really much to go on in terms of what someone might look like?

You need to give more than two clues though.

Sweetbeansandmochi · 25/10/2026 16:49

I just made a complete fabricated story up!

You are wearing a yellow dress with little red flowers on it and you have dyed shoulder length red hair. You are sitting at a table with two old coffee cups that you haven’t moved because you have been too engrossed in your work. There are some doc martins by the door that you painted. You used to have a nose ring but you have taken it out and you took your belly button piercing out 15 years ago.

I have been to the pub for lunch today and now sitting on the sofa with my white cat who only likes me when I have food. I just ate a packet of salt and vinegar Hulu hoops even though I am definitely not hungry. I wonder what I might look like!!

You say you needed more clues but you're absolutely right! I am a bodybuilder!

Are you really in your 60s in a maisonette or was that just an example of how rubbish my clues were?😄

None of this is right although I am a little bit alternative I suppose. I've never had a nose ring.I still keep my bellybutton piercing in from 30 years ago!

You're slim/average but not really body conscious, quite confident in your skin. You aren't a very 'mumsnet' kind of person. You have short hair and classy earrings and like cosy, comfortable clothes and red wine.

I am envisioning you as slim, quite small, with gamine features and shortish or bobbed dark blonde hair. You sometimes wear glasses and like to look glamorous when an event could allow it. You have a 'no-nonsense' approach to life but like some luxuries that other people don't really understand. (Edit, typo).

Ooh, I'm tall and chunky, but I do wear glasses sometimes, have dark hair but it's long. Very no-nonsense. Spot on with the luxuries that people don't understand! I'm glamorous every dayGrin

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 25/10/2026 17:08

@Sweetbeansandmochi is 5"6 with slightly curly hair, shoulder length. Has a big fluffy white dressing gown which you got to match the cat, who remains unmoved. Favourite shoes are green leather ones that hurt your feet.

Have watched DH play football this afternoon, now sat drinking a coffee and trying to find motivation to put up halloween decorations outside. And possibly change the litter tray.

Haha thank you, so I was kinda right! Maybe it's not such a bad system after all.
Here's another one- I'm wearing Shein tracksuit bottoms with holes in. 🤣

I imagine you as quite a 'classic' dresser, jeans and a nice top and blazer sort of thing. Curvy figure, roundish face with large eyes and dark hair.

Usually make an effort for work, but today you're in jeans and a big fleece that's seen better days. You've got dark hair tied up in a ponytail with bits falling out and you did put makeup on the morning but now its smudged. You never take your earrings out and you keep thinking you should lose a bit of weight, even though you look fine and everyone keeps saying you look good., but you're not entirely happy in your skin any more.

Im taking a break from incessant diy and feeling like I ought to be doing something and watching the news with a cat who's been trying to steal my dinner. I am enjoying the couple of childfree days I get before the little dears get delivered back for the rest of half term, but i have to go into the office tomorrow so I'll probably celebrate with an early night. Rock and roll!

I am 41 and live in a bog standard 3 bed house in the south east of England. I really like to play tennis (badly)

5128gap · 25/10/2026 17:28

I've taken my granddaughter clothes shopping and said "you can't wear that" at least twice today. I live in a terraced house and have two cats.

I am envisioning you as a bit of a flower child, bit hippie, perhaps nose ring, long skirts and bright red wavy hair. You like rugs.

You look younger than you are and have good skin and thick blonde hair. You're pear shaped and like casual clothes but everyone says you look lovely when you dress up. You don't wear much make-up or jewelry and don't like the hot weather.

I am wearing a man's shein tracksuit (They're fab, I put them on over my gym outfit and then take them off as I warm up). I will defend myself in that my carbon footprint is otherwise very low (no animal products ever, I don't like going abroad so don't fly, and most of my clothes are second-hand!

And yes you were very much on the right track. Bungalow is just because I loved the area, it was a bargain, close to family and I like lots of other features it has, not because I can't be arsed going up some stairs 😆

Ding ding ding except I have thin brown hair

MilkBreadToiletroll · 25/10/2026 17:42

@Noodge and @ThreeMogsAndCounting you've both got that I am naturally dark and on the curvy side (thanks peri) I'm dying my hair blonder now to try and blend the grey. I do make an effort with work but today I'm in wide leg trousers and a chunky cardigan to feel cosy.

Three Mogs please tell me that you have thick curly hair that's down today, but will be put up for work. I'm really imaging curly hair! 😆

That's quite uncanny as you've described the look I wish I had!

TemporarilyCantDoMyself · 25/10/2026 17:42

I'm 71 and DH is 79 and exactly a year ago we effectively upsized, in the sense of moving from a house with almost no garden to a house with the biggest garden I've ever had, partly because I've always wanted to get much more into gardening. The house isn't really bigger but in effect it is because the last house was a barn conversion with lots of unusable space and stupidly designed rooms whereas this one is much more straightforward. We also moved from a village to a city. And we're both flipping delighted that we did this! Definitely the right move despite there being problems along the way! 😂

weebarra · 25/10/2026 17:45

Currently looking after my dad with dementia and my mum who is recovering from an op. And drinking a glass of white wine.

I’m 40, and have just got home from taking my primary school age son to Ryman’s on the high street to buy some art supplies for his half-term homework. Would’ve been a 20 minute walk but we took the bus because it was windy and getting cold. I also grabbed some chocolate brownies from the Whole Foods next door and am sneakily eating them in bed hoping DS and DH doesn’t come in the room asking for some.

Thick-ish, very slightly wavy and yes, had it loose today.Probably will for work, too. I tend to only wear it up for practical purposes!
