I have a cheese problem

I have a slightly roasted cholesterol result.

My diet is pretty good. Lots of fruit and veg, meals cooked from scratch, very little sugar or processed food, but cheese is my go to treat/snack.

Can you suggest anything else, that's not full of sugar, or bread based, but still feels satisfying? I.e. Carrot sticks are not the answer!

Nuts? Full of good fats.

Have you tried this stuff? REALLY cheesy and satisfying as far as cottage cheese goes.

I'm not a massive cheese eater, but I do like this.

However it's not the same type of cheese as hard cheese. Totally different taste.

If I liked hard cheese I wouldn't see cottage cheese as a worthy replacement.

It would be like drinking chicory coffee instead of espresso.

Buying stronger cheeses and eating less doesn't work for me, the stronger ones are nicer so I eat more. I have high overall cholesterol but a good ratio. I keep babybels for snacks, they are rubbery bland little things but they are good for portion control and do still give a bit of a cheese hit. I have cut right back on butter and do eat cottage cheese, I know it's heresy on MN but it doesn't have to be Longley Farm, just avoid low fat or high protein ones. It's nice with a smidge of salt and pepper, or chives or a spice mix.

Smashed avocado or peanut butter or humus on rice cakes. Delish.

Or grilled tomatoes on sourdough toast.

But what is your weight? Can't see that mentioned. I'm a former cheese addict and it made me quite fat. Went cold turkey in the end.

I add olive oil to everything OP, otherwise I’m always hungry! It’s a hangover from my low carb days (i go back and forth) but I still do it when I eat carbs. I add it to Greek yogurt along with lots of fibre (flax, chia seeds, almonds etc). It won’t replace cheese but maybe if you’re less hungry overall it will help you miss cheese less 😀
I also don’t eat cheese when I’m hungry as I don’t find it satisfying and can eat it forever. So I have it as part of a meal.

You put olive oil in Greek yoghurt?

My BMI is 21, right in the middle of where it should be, but that's because I do loads of exercise rather than becuase I watch what I eat.

I like the full fat Lidl Cottage Cheese.
