I’m having the worst week…

I really am.

Monday my lovely old cat has to be put to sleep, I’d had him for 15 years and it was very sad and sudden.

Tuesday I got a call from my sister to say my dad had a suspected stroke, really unwell and in hospital, although luckily it wasn’t a stroke but he’s still very unwell in hospital and will be there for a
while.

Wednesday my other cat went out and I haven’t seen him since and I am just sick with worry about him. I honestly feel like I’m cursed this week.

just want to go to bed and cry but on my way to see my old dad (3 hour journey!).

has anyone got any good
news stories to cheer me up (especially re missing cats).

Such good news about your dad. I hope him moving nearer happens quickly, and eases things logistically at such a worrying time.

Cats are buggers. Give it til Monday afternoon with just casual looking (going for a couple of walks round locally calling for him) and then get some posters up! Must be confused at the loss of his friend 🧡

For good news cat stories google Stella the cat from Beckenham, SE London. She even has her own Facebook group.

She went missing for months and then turned up in a garden.

Great news about your dad.

My cat hasn't come up to get me or feed him. Too scared to shout him incase he doesn't come so I'm going to get ready and hope the noise wakes him and he does come up shouting.

It worked. I went in to the bathroom and he followed me in. I hope today is the day yours comes back @Upwaytooearly .

I’ve had cats go AWOL several times but they’ve always slunk back home eventually, hopefully having had some fun!

my sisters cat was missing recently and she did the trick of hanging her unwashed but worn clothing on the washing line and they hopefully get your scent - it worked the same day!

Not a cat story, but a dog one. Little spaniel went missing locally, not a sniff of him for 3 weeks until someone randomly spotted him and managed to catch hold of him. He's a little worse for wear but home with his family now, and they thought they'd never see him again. Hope your cat is home soon OP and that next week is better for you 💐

Aww OP I am sorry to hear that. I had a horrible week the week before last, too. My dad had a stroke and is in hospital at the moment, so I can sympathise. Reading your updates, I’m glad to hear he is much better and they’re moving him to a hospital closer to you. Oh and one of our cats went missing for two weeks once, but returned. Maybe your cat is missing your other cat. I’m sure he’ll return soon. 💐
