If the UK had a PM who was becoming seemingly increasingly mentally unwell, what would happen?

I'm nit private to President Trumps medical info, but it seems to me, and lots of others, that his mental health is declining. He's always been controversial and said stupid things to shock, but it's getting worse?

So, if the UK elected a maverick PM, who later seemed to be unwell, are we just stuck with it until the next GE or are there protections in place to stop that happening and remove him?

Don’t, I thought I had cancer a few months back, one thing that really pissed me off was that Trump could outlive me!

Have you heard the song ‘on the day it finally happens’? 😬

There really should be a role for a consultant-; the pm' s doctor- who can step in.
There must be a process surely? If the PM can't recognize they are unable through illness.

Well, if they were left wing, like Labour leader Michael Foot, the Tory press would make out they were senile anyway.

For instance, when he visited a hospital, the right wing press photographed him visiting a psychiatric ward but made out he was a patient.

Or moderately left like Gordon Brown who was made to look bumbling and incapable of producing a hand written note (he was actually partially sighted).

Whereas, Margaret Thatcher, who was always a fruit loop and then got Alzheimer’s (which I wish on no one) and was prime minister for years.

We had Reagan wittering away about Extraterrestrials and Star Wars on the other side of Atlantic too, so it was pretty scary.

George W was bonkers too but for political balance, I don’t think Clinton was the full ticket ( definitely forgetful about who he’d had “relations” with and Sleepy Joe, was well, sleepy.

What we’ve got to hope for is The Donald crashing the economy (which won’t be good for us outside the EU) and there there’s a chance they might shift him then. But with each day, he looks more like a dictator and his hold strengthens.

I’m ever hopeful that he’ll get the shits one day and drink some bleach (like he advised during Covid) and finish himself off. But then we’ll have Jed Clampet Vance, and it might be worse.

The main political parties have very good systems in place to remove their own PM

look how quickly Liz Truss was removed. This I feel is good for democracy

I would rather have a number of PM than one that was hopelessly useless, stupid and dangerous to our country and to the world

it’s incredibly difficult as we have seen with Biden who was not fit to be president to get the president of the US removed unfortunately Trump shall be around for some time unless he has a heart attack or is assassinated

Thats what i mean I doubt the uk would get to a situation where the PMs mental health is being questioned internationally.

Now if the King was lossing it, I'm not sure how they'd oust him or would the next in line just delegate? Keeping in mind its him to meets other international heads.

if the King becomes too unwell to rule a regency would be invoked. Happened with George lll when the then Prince of Wales took over his duties due to mental illness. Mind you, the King’s powers are merely ceremonial now.

There is a stark difference in having a mentally healthy leader. Ist it is overwhelmingly refreshing to listen to our pm and think that is a normal person. As opposed to Trump, Taliban folks, the ones who rant, spew aggression and absurdities.
Somehow psychologist should vet for balance in any contest.
