Is inheriting 100k as a 27 year old in the UK quite rare?

  1. Inherited over 100k from distant family member
  2. Have friends who have inherited 200k, 300k but admittedly they are a tad older than me
  3. Thus is it weird
  4. As an autistic person, do u advise me to tell others if peopel ask me how I got a new car, etc

Tell no one. There will always be the chancer who will ask you for a loan or expect you to pay for days out and holidays.
Spend your money wisely and remember your relative with affection.

Don't tell people. You don't owe anybody an explanation.

a) Of course it's unusual, don't play dim
b) Are you the same poster who thinks everyone on your Big 4 grad scheme hates you because you have money?

Why do you keep making similar threads?

Only people who have sadly lost both parents at a young age. I wouldn’t tell people anything, it’s nobody else’s business.

Christ it's that tit again.

Yes it’s unusual - an inheritance if that size would usually come from a parent and most people still have a parent living at that age.

It’s also unusual to get a £100k gift

Idk why it matters - some people get large gifts and inheritances and others don’t. My friend got an absolute fortune at 21 from a trust her gf had set up. He was long dead and all his dgc benefitted at the same time but she was the youngest - oldest was pushing 40.

I wouldn’t particularly want random people knowing so re the car I would say “my mum gave me some money from an inheritance she got so I spent it in this car” which is honest but gives the impression the money has gone.

There is a massive variation in income and assets. No point comparing your situation to others.

😆😆 op is unusually obsessed with money

If you want to say something about your car - 'my mum inherited some money and helped me buy the car' would be fine.

But if everyone you know has a chunk of money dropping on them now and again, probably no one will ask.
