I am so sick of rich and powerful perverts trying to use 'super injunctions' to keep their dodgy behaviour out of the media.

I think these should be banned by the government and that media outlets should in the meantime all refuse to abide by them and just 'publish and be damned'.

We have seen countless time with the likes of Saville, Brand, Edwards, Al Fayed and others how these men are enabled and protected, so it is really important that everything is in the media spotlight so that other potential victims feel they can speak out and these people get exposed.

After all if this 'celebrity' has done nothing wrong they should not be afraid of allegations becoming public and they can always fight them in court if they are charged. Not try to sweep them under the carpet using expensive lawyers.

Beckham and Gary Linekar have super injunctions out in the UK I believe.

So does Mr Schofield. No idea what about though.

Wildgoat · 17/10/2026 15:44

No one does, it is misconduct and a sexual offence, the injunction is to stop the details of the allegations being made public, his lawyers are saying he will kill himself if it is published and has already tried twice this year,

Thank you. I have no time for anyone who threatens suicide. This has reminded me of my now ex husband being forced into admitting an affair and said he'd thought of killing himself. I panicked as I still loved him at that point and he's my children's father. Three years later and happily divorced, not as fussed.

Just seen this. I’ve never heard of this particular reason being invoked to prevent publication.

I understood the judge told the counsel that there were parts of the Health Service that could help him, or words to that effect.

He's currently on Taskmaster. He got skinny. Doesn't suit him.

Thank You - must've missed that. 😁

It’s the absolute lowest thing to do - it’s using a caring person’s humanity against them because they themselves don’t have any. I’m sorry your ex did that to you.

Especially as I had tried for real in the past. Taken a while to realise he was part of the reason my MH was so bad.

Thank you 💐

Indeed.

Social media is not perfect but it is definitely a useful communication channel that fancy lawyers thankfully can't always control.

I have seen many posts on X as well naming the male celeb and discussing 'the girlfriend, the politician and the media silence' story.

Can you give a hint as to who the other people are? I’m not on twitter.

That’s kind of the point. Of getting a super injunction. That we don’t know

Michael Gove.

This is an extension of emotional blackmail. It reminds me of the case being brought by barrister Sarah Phillimore against Jolyon Maugham for defamation in alleging that her "wicked" online comments drove transwoman Sophie Molly to attempt suicide (even though the latter had posted on Twitter about other attempts, caused by other problems).

It's like saying "Don’t you dare be nasty to me or I’ll kill myself and it will be Your Fault!"

This 100%.

Since when has a stance like this been listened to in relation to a legal case?

Why on earth would AI know if a celebrity is in a private hospital?!

Well if the computer says no it must be correct!

Perhaps only fools know who the person is 😏

Daisymail · 17/10/2026 17:22

It's all over Reddit - all perfectly legal to name him because it's an American site.

Themightyfloof · 17/10/2026 17:23

Michael Gove - considering the charges against his former girlfriend?

Greenseawitch · 17/10/2026 17:24

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 17/10/2026 15:31

I am sorry but I am lost at the girlfriend and politician

I mentioned this because there are rumours of an injunction that resulted on articles being removed recently on the topic the ex girlfriend of a well known Tory. This female academic is facing charges of possessing indecent images of minors but the mainstream media has been strangely quiet about it but X/Twitter were openly discussing it.

Similar to what this male celeb is now trying to achieve (silencing the media), but again X is being used to openly share his name and is proving more resilient than traditional media outlets.

Laiste · 17/10/2026 17:28

So is it Walliams then? If it's not the name being hushed up but what he did?

Ironically one of the things he did which hasn't been hushed up is Little Britain ...

Ok, I think I understand the girlfriend/politician but not sure how it links - unless it is just further evidence of general cover up

I always thought he was gay. Yes I know he was married for a bit.

Fairweathersorties9 · 17/10/2026 07:38

I hope the mental health of this man’s alleged victims is protected with equal care but maybe not if they can’t afford expensive lawyers?

I find the use of article two of the European convention on human rights, which relates to the right to life, a bit of a stretch, it being entirely our own responsibility whether we interfere with that or not? But maybe I am missing something as a non-lawyer?

Exactly

Whoopiedooo · 17/10/2026 17:43

So do we assume then that these never to be known accusations are never to be prosecuted? if not then surely they will become known during the prosecution.

I always thought he had gay vibes about him just to clarify nothing wrong with being gay but in a predatory manner .

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 17/10/2026 17:46

As the saying goes, you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep...

Injunction against ITN by a well known individual?
PetulaGordeno · 17/10/2026 17:46

I looked at Reddit. So when you think about Britain being Little, it’s the taller of the two who is the person in question.
