If you've had kids... has the skin on your stomach ever gone back to normal?

I had my first when I was 36 and my second when I was 39 so not young. I've never had stretch marks, however, the skin on my stomach is a bit 'loose' when I am sat down IYSWIM. When I am standing up it's not noticeable.

I was curious if others have the same issue? I am a very similar weight now to before pregnancy (I'm a few KGs lighter now).

It's not something I lose sleep over, I was just curious. I assume there is nothing that will help (but if anyone has any wonderful fixes, let me know! 😂)

I had mine at 30 and 43, didn’t put on much weight with either and always tried to keep up my fitness, last one I’ve lost the baby weight very slowly but my stomach has gone back, no stretch marks. I’m luckily for 50 I guess.

No, the skin is loose and I also have a large amount of stretch marks, although they have faded over time. It's not noticeable when clothed as I am slim but I considered my bikini days over after DC1.

My stomach went back to normal - no loose skin, no stretch marks. Just exactly the same as it was before and after giving birth.
I was 33 and 35 when I had them and although I wasn’t overweight I was by no means a fit and toned kind of person. Guess I just got lucky!

Mine was fine after the first two babies, it was the third and fourth that did for it. A bunch of weird crepe skin. I really don't like it but I am at peace with it.

No it has never returned to normal and DS is 18 now. I had awful stretch marks and now I'm left with a wrinkly, scarred mess that overhangs no matter what I weigh. It's depressing. I'm hypermobile and as such my faulty collagen scars so easily and my skin never goes back to it's normal state after mega stretching.

No, I had a twins and the skin us just loose, I have a belly apron due to the C-section.

Mine went back to normal. I have 1 child who was born when I was almost 42. I had a c section.
I didn’t get any stretch marks but my bump felt and looked huge. I am 5’2” and size 10.
After my c section I still looked pregnant for about 5 weeks. After the 5 weeks my stomach gradually started to reduce in size. After a couple of months it looked better but I thought I would be left with a shelf or pouch forever.
It took about a year but my flat stomach did return.
My c section scar has also faded a lot and is very neat.
I do think it’s down to genetics though. My mum also doesn’t have any stretch marks and has always been slim. She had 2 children, first at 19.

My mum went back to normal after her pregnancies. I had diastasis recti and awful stretch marks after DS1. I was 21 and he was only 8lb 9 so not a huge baby really. It all went downhill with the next two and now my skin looks like a saggy old sack and my belly sticks out further than my boobs 😩No amount of exercise or dieting will fix it. It does affect my self esteem at times as no clothes look really good any more and I feel fat and out of shape. I do envy people who just pinged back a little bit.
