Publicity stunt for all

And most reasonable people when told that that specific one isn't for sale but we can contact the person who makes them so they can make one for you accept that.

As there is no sound on the audio, it's a case of do you believe Kelly who says she was made to feel like she couldn't afford it, or the shop who say that they explained she could order one. So you are in a position of taking sides.

Which is driving the story even further, because people love taking sides in this sort of inconsequential shit.

If Kelly didn't come away from the shop with the understanding that she could order one and instead came away with the feeling that they thought she couldn't afford it which is what she seems to have done, perhaps the shop didn't deal with it clearly enough at the time, even if they thought they had.

Either way it doesn't matter. The shop should have apologised and defused, they didn't and decided to take on Kelly Clarkson instead. Like I said, a case study in what not to do.

Well the cctv footage doesn’t back her story up of the employee looking at her funny 🤷‍♀️

employee says she started talking about something else in another part of the shop and he started walking towards that. He looked back and she wasn’t following him but was now looking at something else and then another customer started talking to the employee.

maybe if she starts an interaction with a shop worker she should be courteous enough to follow that through. Seems a bit rude to just go off and start looking at something else when an employee is halfway through assisting you! May also explain why she didn’t fully understand the situation.

It still doesn't matter.

A good business will defuse the situation not escalate it. And releasing CCTV so that the world can scrutinise who did what is just bizarre.

If it was a normal customer I’d agree. But when it’s a celeb with 8 million followers using their power to call a shop employee an idiot I’m going to disagree. I feel they need to defend themselves against a potential witch hunt. They were initially getting a pasting by people who’d never visited the shop.

That seems to have died down and the tide seems to be turning against Clarkson so I’d say the shop’s MO has worked. Which I’m sure they’re relieved about.

lots of stuff now in the media about how Clarkson is a rude diva who treated staff on her talk show badly.

We get it you love Kelly and she can do no wrong! 😂

Although I vaguely know the name, I'm not familiar with her work. Did she use the eternal phrase:

"Do you know who I am?"

😂

So you think that the shop dealt with it well?

The OP asked why the story keeps going, and the answer would seem to me to be because the shop dealt with it poorly.

I mean, from working in a school I have a lot of experience in dealing with complaints, and the worst thing you can do is come out fighting, it just escalates the situation. Acknowledging their feelings and apologising goes a long way to defusing a situation even if you actually want to shove your middle finger in their face.

The only suitable punishment for this shop owner is for him to be shut in a room to watch her chat show on repeat. That'll teach him
