Feel physically sick at what Trump has done now.

It's been reported that the video of the young man being mauled to death by the tiger has been posted on his social media platform, ostensibly to warn us all NOT to mess the dangerous animals.
Oh my good god I despair and wonder what is next? Does he really keep thinking he can cover up his vileness by blaming everyone and everything but himself?
Other sickos have done the same.............it's sick beyond words.

No he is not unhinged. He knows exactly what he is doing. And why. Calling him unhinged lets him off the hook of responsibility.
He is I imagine what the older version of Henry Viii was like. Unpredictable, could be charming, intelligent, but clearly failing in health, lashing out, ruthless. And keen on the money. Married many times, with various children by various women. Unfaithful. Sees himself as a God almost. And has a mission that he is uncompromising about.
I guess you do need to know a bit about Henry to see the similarities, but it is there.
Like Henry, the country he will leave behind will crumble rather a lot before it gets better.

A canter through history suggests that Henrys actions can still be seen in the social fabric of the UK.

There is no day I dont sit and wonder why Americans unleashed this shit on the world.

I really do think that he must be one of the most truly reprehensible individuals that has ever lived.

There is not one single shred of humanity in him. It’s repulsive to watch.

That poor man’s family.

Pinkelephant66 · Yesterday 14:50

I’m more concerned that the people visiting the zoo saw someone enter the enclosure and their first thought was to pull out their phones and film it. It clearly was not going to end well for him. And then upload his gruesome death for the entire world to see.

TooBigForMyBoots · Yesterday 14:50

Hes a fucking disgrace!😡

SerendipityJane · Yesterday 14:54

I wouldn't go that far ... even the last 100 years has thrown up a few people who could easily take that accolade.

However as a supposedly elected leader, yes, I really can't think of anyone so consistently unpleasant in every single situation they have appeared in.

I wonder how many folk are clinging to life with an ambition that they will not only live to see him condemned to history ...

Indeed. We broke with Rome being probably the biggest. We are largely Anglicised and less Latin language more English.
The foundations of modern administration belong to Thomas Cromwell rather than Henry. Henry got bored ( like Trump) of detail.

All of which set the stage for the civil war(s).

And their legacy is still in the makeup of the country today.

I absolutely agree Pinkelephant66, that is more disturbing, I only highlight Trump in this as he is a president, god help us.
It's also disturbing that the BBC (not seen the other channels take on it) just slid Trump into the report of who the poor young man was, in some kind of matter of fact way. That was vile in itself, DT's depravity should not be part and parcel of telling us about the mentally ill man and what his family are going through. How disrespectful. Trump's low life behaviour should have had it's own separate section afterwards, along with some condemnation from politicians.

'There are a team of people behind him that enables this'
Absolutely, that's the other scary thing, there's a whole army of these vile people (Hesgeth right up there with Trump with what he announced recently). Some people are so gullible, they'll see that a president is doing this garbage and tell themselves it's ok. Errr no, it's not ok, it's utterly depraved.

How has become almost the norm for any distressing incident to be filmed? Who wants to do that? My brain aches trying to fathom it.

Basically if any one of us or our loved ones faces a gruesome death then we know it's going to be out there for the mindless scrolling masses to entertain themselves with.

What worries me is the stuff the team may have had to prevent and about which we onow nothing.

Trump is vile and unhinged, and the US has done untold damage to its international reputation by electing him as President twice. But do Americans care?

Of course Americans care. Do you think people here aren’t suffering immensely from his lunatic policies? Our costs have soared. We have concentration camps for brown people where children are dying due to lack of medical care and unsanitary conditions. ICE is murdering people on the street.

Unfortunately it seems that he was elected fairly (which I question).

The electoral system is such that he doesn’t need a majority of voters to be installed as president. He got fewer than 50% of the votes and that was 77 million out of 280 million adults.

obviously more people need to vote but if it’s not the people in the right states it still won’t make a difference thanks to a bunch of old white men 250 years ago.

Well there were the Wars of the Roses. Henry was not born when this was occurring. And by the time of Charles 1 and all that was happening then long since dead.

The Americans unleashed Trump on the world because he reflects how a huge portion of the U.S. are also. They see him reflecting their basest and, to use a Trump-word, nastiest impulses and they love him for it.
Trump IS the US, until the day they depose him.

The electoral system is such that he doesn’t need a majority of voters to be installed as president.

Which was the job it was specifically designed to do. Americans forget (or never knew, which is the same thing) that some of the founding fathers didn't see the need for citizens to vote at all. (And bearing in mind how few could in 1792, it may as well have been the same thing).

Andrew Jackson vs. John Quincy Adams was the first time the "popular" vote was ignored.

(I helped DB study for his US Citizenship test, and learning is never wasted).

Uricon2 · Yesterday 15:34

He is an obscenity and of course has surrounded himself with those in the same mould.

What I can't understand is why 'normal' Republicans, especially those in the political class, are not utterly horrified and mortified by him and more vocal about it. I know the late, great John McCain was unafraid of him and clashed heads but it is IMHO going to take an uprising by decent people in his own party to dethrone him and the likes of JDV, even if it means losing the next election and I don't see it happening.

Huge sympathy to the family of William Chapman, may he rest in peace.

LizzieW1969 · Yesterday 15:35

Trump is really vile to have posted that video. How upsetting for that poor man’s family, but obviously he couldn’t care less about that. I don’t understand why he hasn’t been impeached, the GOP are completely spineless.

I believe there is no video of the actual killing.

The only video seems to be just before the killing, which is the one Trump shared.

If he had one of the killing, he probably would have shared it.

Apparently the video he shared, showed the tiger biting/mauling the man. Then his AI generated shit. He truly is absolutely disgusting. I don’t know how/why he is getting away with this.

Trump really has allowed the true colors of Americans to be seen.
Tolerant of his undiplomatic approach, tolerant of his corruption, tolerant of jobs being assigned based on looks oh and tolerant of fake news.
Since none of them have shown any spine regarding Greenland or Venezuela, I wish them isolation and misery.
May their cancerous food production methods grant them what they deserve.

That isn’t really fair on the vast majority of Americans who can’t stand Trump now, judging by his current poll ratings. Ok, some of them have woken up a little late in the day!

I agree that Trump is completely despicable.

True. Then the question will be, has it been a fair vote? And will Trump accept the result? Sadly, I fear that he won’t and he and his supporters will attempt to subvert it.

I despair of humanity. That this man is president. That people stood and filmed that poor young man. My heart goes out to his family. It's really upset me as the parent of an autistic young man.

Trump is loathsome. The fact that two ancient, impaired and sociopathic men are in charge of USA and Russia is nauseating. I feel like we're just in a dystopia. I can't bear the news or socials anymore.

Yes this is it for me. That anyone could just stand there a film it. I just couldn’t have done that in a million years. I’m so sad for the poor man’s family to know that it’s all over the internet.
Trump on the other hand, nothing he does is surprising. I just hope he leaves the Presidency willingly when his time is up.

CostcoFanofThree · Yesterday 16:26

How is it unfair?
Their governors are mostly mum on all issues.
Zero speaking out on debanking ICC judges or the numerous other small acts of aggression towards other countries.
French teens are showing more effort.

The newspapers have managed to find more respectable photos of the chap today, including what looks like niagara falls in the background. A tiny thing, but important
