This is a genuine thread on Netmums. I went over out of curiosity and, well, this blew my mind!

It's just the same over egged, try hard bollocks that often gets posted on here. Presumably some posters on Netmums lap it up too.

Chaarlene · 14/10/2026 08:26

Nice to see those giddy with Chatgpt get their kicks over there as well. Sam Altman must be so proud. It was all worth it.

Has to be a pisstake, no-one could be this thick and ignorant.

Well, I say that... A woman I know has her 36 year old daughter living with her, and she didn't leave home til 29, lived with 2 mates for a year and a half then came back, (at 31,) then she stayed home for another 3 years, then moved out for 6 months, then came back a couple of years ago. She pays NOTHING. And she never has.

She has a part time job, and earns a couple of hundred of pounds a week, and says she needs it for herself. Has no car, can't drive, works 18 hours a week. She does nothing in the house, and spends half her waking hours in her bedroom. This is a 36 year old woman, not a 19 year old!! I think her parents have enabled her, and honestly, it's just too late to stop it now. No special needs, not ND.

She has a brother who is a bone idle fecker too. But he lives with his girlfriend and their 2 small DC. Never worked, aged 33.

She and her husband have always worked, so I wonder where they went wrong really.

And if anyone is about to ask 'how on earth can you possibly know all of this?' She TOLD me.

Wow you have quite the imagination. No. I’m a transport manager I’m rather busy for that as I said, browsing waiting for my staff to sign in and thought it was funny. My sincerest apologies for ruining your morning with something that made me laugh. I shall retreat back and find something dramatic/scary/upsetting to post about 😂

Don't take people words to heart @Preworkouttingle Some people just have different views that's all. Flowers

SirChenjins · 14/10/2026 08:32

Well I enjoyed it OP! I also enjoyed reading posts from people who are complaining about your post but who obviously still read the NM screenshot - gotta love MN 😂

Either way, I hope TallulahBelle's parents stand firm!

Please don't patronise me. I am perfectly calm

I think you're the one who needs to calm down.
@MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack reads to me as being perfectly calm.

PrettyLittleRose · 14/10/2026 09:02

The comment 'calm down' is so patronising and rude. It's quite misogynistic. It's basically saying 'stop being so hysterical woman!'

I don't see @MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack being hyper or angry. They seem calm to me.

ThatCyanCat · 14/10/2026 09:04

It's no stupider than half the stuff on here, especially since the latest influx of incels, MRAs and "come now" men.

Preworkouttingle · 14/10/2026 07:35

I’m not a member I was nosing online at work (none of my staff in yet I was bored) it came up on Google under Mumsnet so I clicked. I was not disappointed.

my staff

I don’t think about my team who report to me as “my staff” sounds a touch dictatorial!

So you're reading Netmums and then creating a thread on Mumsnet and then reading through posts and replying to them.....whilst you're at work?
You're posting inane bollocks like this whilst you're being paid to do your job?
Wow. Wish I knew your boss.

Edited

I come in around an hour early to prep for the day because I am the boss. Manager. Next up from me is regional and he’s currently (last I spoke to him) in Southampton. That’s quite the bear from where I am in the north of Scotland so I’m not too worried about him turning up in the next hour.

A netmums thread from late 2025 as well

Preworkouttingle · 14/10/2026 09:14

Kinda remember why I deleted my old account years ago. Does nobody just just read to pass the time or whatever anymore? I’ll go read classics that used to be funny. As I said, just don’t read it if it has you frothing 😉. Might read the expectations bs reality thread again that was good….

Funnywonder · 14/10/2026 09:16

This sort of post is not unique to Netmums. There’s plenty of that nonsense on here too. I’m sure, despite the mocking attitude to Netmums on here, there’s the usual mixture of normal stuff and weird stuff, just with a lot of twee over familiarity and less swearing😅

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 14/10/2026 09:35

‘General chat’ last posted on in June? Is that their latest thread there or am I clicking on the wrong things? It looks like their whole forum is as dead as anything.

OP, I found it funny, not sure why youve had a few patronising replies really.

Agatha1989 · 14/10/2026 09:40

You should have posted it as if it was your dilemma instead of screenshotting it from Netmums. I can just imagine the replies! 😂

GarlicEverything · 14/10/2026 09:42

Yes, it's ... not busy over there.

Teazels · 14/10/2026 09:43

Some of the replies on here are unhinged, a few of you need to really chill the fuck out.
It's just a light hearted thread, the OP didn't ask to be grilled about her job or justify posting on here.

Op fwiw I think it was probably a wind up post, or I hope it is anyway!

Slightyamusedandsilly · 14/10/2026 09:43

Ineversaidthatactually · 14/10/2026 08:17

How about you go and say "Good morning how are you?" to your staff whilst they sign in, instead of disingaging from them and reading shit on your phone whilst they sign in.

Jesus. Stop with being the site fun sponge!

It's not you. Some of 'em are clearly out for a fight LOL.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 14/10/2026 07:35

I'm not entirely sure what the point is of taking obvious rage bait from one site and putting it on another?

What are you hoping to get from this thread, OP?

Kind of weird

TheLastSilverSaint · 14/10/2026 10:09

The Netmums post is obviously fake or a reverse, like a lot of the more absurd threads on Mumsnet. Not sure why it warrants sharing here to be honest. It's just a bog-standard ragebait thread like a lot of Mumsnet ones.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 14/10/2026 10:17

Slightyamusedandsilly · 14/10/2026 09:44

Not sure if you are referring to me, but I genuinely wasn't out for a fight. I just didn't understand why the OP was sharing it here - it didn't occur to me that anyone would consider it funny or original, as it's the kind of thread that we see quite often on MN.

The OP has since clarified that she shared it because she did think it was funny. Fair enough. Hopefully others will enjoy it as well.
