What if an average Joe had a song idea and it’s amazing?

I had a dream (took a lunch break nap), and in the dream a song was playing.

Now, I will remembered half of the lyrics weirdly. And wrote them in my notes app. I’ve then added to it and it really flows!

It is no Adele but the song I’ve written is so poppy and would sound amazing with someone like Ariana Grande singing it.

What if it’s a hit? How would an average joe like me with zero music knowledge put it under her nose?

It has great lyrics but also have the tune/how those lyrics should be sung. How do I communicate that when I can’t write music? Like the notes etc

Please nobody laugh. Just seems to really flows!

No music experience, just a mum of 2 who is probably bored and tired to have even dreamt it

Oh god yea, a Christmas song by Adele would be like an inferior reworking of Lonely This Christmas by Mud.

Unfortunately I have just heard this in my head. It's not pleasant

Is it a good song, or is it a Christmas poem written by an 8 year old for their December homework?

Because a 10 foot long tree screams that you were trying to shoehorn in a rhyme even though it doesn’t work. Taylor Swift would be weeping at the shoddy songwriting if she found this thread.

My daughter wrote a Christmas song! Just like you, she was convinced it would be a massive hit!

She was 7.

The song is indeed a banger, but is called "Santa's Chocolate Baby". 🤔

To be fair, some of TS's rhyming at times is questionable....

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not 😅

I can

For me, the ten-foot tree also screams of the little-girl playground song "My friend Billy/Had a ten-foot willy."

Fair, but given her Christmas Tree farming background, I think referring to the height of a tree as 10 foot long would cut just that bit deeper 😂

@Heyandheytoday this is brilliant - I also dreamed a song once, except mine would be the go-to song for funerals. Luckily I am a musician of sorts so I was able to put it into something called musescore and play it to friends, just to make sure I wasn't just dreaming about a real song. Not sure how much of a market there is for mine - maybe I can ask for it at my own funeral - but I look forward to the Asda Christmas ad featuring yours. Good luck!

By the way, if you don't have musical friends you're welcome to message me, perhaps I can help you get it down on paper.

(in case my message sounded like the weirdest ever sales plug, I'd do this just as a nice thing to do for a stranger with a 10ft long tree)

Don’t know if GarageBand app would be helpful to get the melody and direction you want. I’m sure other apps are available that do similar too.

Suno will write the whole thing for you, except it will be derivative and crap
