Should I buy a kindle?

I love a good book but for some reason recently I've not had one on the go. I'm hoping if I had an e-reader , which is not something I've ever owned, this would change as it would be an expensive purchase I want to make use of.

Just had a look at the range and seems you can get colour ones now? Which I like sound of.
To confirm, it's quite easy to go from one book to another with things like bookmarks etc?
Any negatives over a traditional book?

I mainly use mine for getting free samples so I can see if I like a book. I then get a paperback from the library or second hand. They're a useful backup for holidays.

Does your library do ebooks?

So many reasons to love an e-reader: no dusty books taking up space, e-books are usually cheaper to buy, no trips to the library or yucky library books (note that you need a Kobo rather than a Kindle to read library books. I think it's worth getting a colour one so you can see the cover but that's because I love book covers. I miss being able to easily flip back to something I want to re-read, I miss knowing when I'm getting close to finishing, it's annoying when your library book suddenly disappears because it was due back and you forgot. But I still prefer them to books.

They are lovely for reading novels and great when travelling. But useless for actual travel guides because the navigation is poor.

Yes, like other posters I’ve got two, one next to my ned that stays there and the other one in my bag that I also read downstairs in the house. I love being able to change the font size.
