Walking Boots for wide feet

I really struggle to find comfortable shoes as I have wide feet and spend most of my time in trainers as they are soft so it doesn’t matter so much.
I am ok walking about 5 miles but would like to do more so need a sturdy walking boot.
So does anyone have any recommendations for boots that have a wider footbed? Budget considerations are less important than comfort.

‘Bunion fit’ is a separate type of shape. It’s wide across the toe box but average at the heel, so the description is factual.

Oh I know, I was just amused at the lack of sugarcoating in the name, it seemed brilliantly practical. And they did fit me very well despite me just having bog standard square all over toes rather than the particular shape.

I have wide front feet but a narrower heel so Scarpa are my go-to

Following with interest as I think I will be needing to get some new boots soon. My current ones are Berghaus which are roomy, walking shoes Merrell.

I looked at the Altberg website recently (we’d been thinking of going to Richmond) - the boots looked like they were all leather, so I was wondering how heavy and waterproof they are?

They mostly have breathable, waterproof l membranes built in, but obviously all leather boots need to be kept in condition with wax/dubbin/similar modern dressing.

Decathlon winter boots/snow boots are pretty wide.

The brands that people are suggesting are fabulous and they have been great for their feet.

I would suggest that you go to a specialist outdoor shop and try different brands with the thickness of sock you are likely to be walking in and find the perfect fit for you.

I have very square wide feet. A few years ago I got properly fitted in Cotswold Outdoors. I was so impressed with them - they brought out 3 pairs of the comfiest and best fitting boots I'd ever tried on. I ended up with a pair of womens Meindl “comfort” wide fit. They're brilliant. There was another good pair by another make "Hanweg" which were also very good but somewhat unattractively described as "bunion fit" I would def recommend a fitting in Cotswold outdoors though - if you can go when it's not too busy.
I did nearly buy some ones from Decathlon though - they're cut beautifully for wide feet, and were very comfy. I think they were the Quechua MX 500 ones (several years ago now so might be different now).

My wide footed son has Merrell boots so maybe try those too - merrell moab 3.

I came on to suggest bunion for Hanwags! Not cheap but have been brilliant for me and really last. Got mine from George Fisher in the Lakes three years ago, and multiple Wainwrights and many miles later and they are still going strong.

Mine are Meindl comfort fit.

I didn’t really want leather boots but they are so comfortable I changed my mind!

Meindl comfort fit. Nothing else works for me. They are so incredibly comfy, and quite light too.
