Hotel holidays - two people on a sofa bed?

We’re looking at our first ever hotel stay holiday for next year. We’ve always had self catering stays before, whether cottages or caravans.

A family of four; the norm seems to be that two people have to sleep on the sofa. The purpose of saving up for a hotel was to have a bit of a break from the home stuff, but making up bedding each times isn’t fun. I guess this is just what most people deal with for a beach holiday hotel?

May be I just have to keep on cooking.

The children are older primary aged.

Thank for the replies. It’s for a beach holiday next year. Location tbc but this is what I’m finding across the Med.

I’d thought we could get something decent for our budget but it’s disappointing to see that when I dig into the details it’s two on sofa beds. So, comfort aside, we’ll be tripping over ourselves too.

We could plan to book self catering accommodation and eat out, but as soon as there’s a hint of a kitchen, I know I’ll be thinking “well we should just do our own breakfasts and lunches to save money” and then the kids will want snacks providing and before you know it I’m having to shop and do washing up which is just what I wanted to avoid for once.

I’ll keep looking, but I feel a bit more justified looking for four proper beds. Thank you!
