Bloody hell, my local school had an open letter about institutional racism signed by over 900 pupils

I was looking online for reviews for local secondary schools and found an open letter signed by over 900 pupils, listing examples of racism. The 900 comprised current and former pupils, but it was from a few years ago, so most are probably former now. That is a huge number. Do you think the school would have changed its spots by now? It was addressed to the current head.

Ridiculous comment. Good for those speaking up. I’m sick and fucking tired of racists. They’re getting more and more bold. It’s not enough to not be racist. We must be actively anti racist.

Former educator here and I’ve seen a lot of racism in London schools surprisingly. More so than in other less diverse areas.

There would be endless excuses for white boys kicking off but Black boys would be getting suspended for things like wearing a hood indoors.

Many first and second gen immigrant kids especially the girls were smashing it academically, but would get little recognition.

I called it out each and every time and yeah I was popular with the racists :) that was over a decade ago though.
