Caleb Flynn trial

Anyone watching the Caleb Flynn trial? The sheer amount of text messages between him and the mistress is staggering. Must average about 300 a day. My exh had an affair and i saw some messages between them and they were quite horrible about me. Scary stuff.

I was actually shocked to see the things they were both saying about his wife. I know the girlfriend isn't charged with anything but I do think she's partly culpable - essentially she was egging him on. I'm sorry you've been through that with your ex, scary indeed 😔

Jk987 · 28/09/2026 14:23

It’s impossible to try and rationalise. Why couldn’t he just leave and shack up with her? Why kill his wife and take away the children’s mother? So sad.

notanothernamesurely · 28/09/2026 14:32

Or is it a massive conspiracy?!

If anyone else had seen those messages they would have literally been able to get away with murder. Very unlikely I know but also …… surely he knows they always blame the husband and that his text messages were always going to be evidence?!

I havent gone through everything obviously but it reads like she was a young idiot with no life experience who thought she was playing a game, and wanted to 'win' over the wife. And he was very dangerous.

The AI songs they played in full in court!!! I feel desperately sorry for Ashley’s family, including her two young daughters whom I believe Caleb tried to influence to lie about what they know. Her mum, dad and sister all look broken.

I know. It's like the Chris Watts case. People up and leave every day and live with the consequences. My exh left havoc but i am pretty sure murdering me was never an option! What leads someome to this.

I suppose it's a possibility but who would want to do that? The simplest option is usually right.

And but of course he and the mistress were both active members of their church praising the Lord and living godly lives in public...

Just horrific. They lead a fantasy life. I remeber readins my exhs and mistress messages where get were talking about how amazing their life would be without their partners, how it was our fault etc and they would be different with each other. Pure fantasy. They were together 3 years and he cheated on her!

There’s no way he’s anything but guilty. No way!

PolkaDotPorridge · 29/09/2026 21:11

Guilty. On all counts. Just seen it. Now they can go after her. She didn’t have a deal.

SteveTheHair · 29/09/2026 22:17

i really hope they go after her. I’ve watched and read an awful lot about this trial.

OliviaBonas · 29/09/2026 22:44

So pleased with the verdict and how quickly it was decided!

MyAzureZebra · 30/09/2026 08:30

I am really pleased with the verdict. What he's done to those poor little girls, to murder their mother. His wife didn't deserve this. From what I read his wife's family set him up with a high paying job in the family business etc. Part of the motive for killing her was to retain the job perhaps.

Im pleased its in America and he's likely to face life in prison without parole now. A worthy sentence.

Angrybird76 · 30/09/2026 13:22

Agree so pleased with result. I was worried there wpuld be enough reasonable doubt but no! Hurah! Although seeing Ashley's families faces was just heartbreaking so there's no real hurray. I don't think they have enough on her for aiding and abetting or inciting a crime but maybe! What it's it with these egocentric men who somehow tonk ours easier to kill someone than leave.

Such a tragic case.
Her death was so unnecessary.

How him and his OW profess Christianity is beyond belief.

A beautiful life, cut short for no reason.

I can't accept she was naive.
She said she wanted to kill Ashley.

She was so jealous of her.
Telling him not to buy her a birthday gift.

He is a big idiot.
He killed the mother of his kids, when he could have simply got a divorce.

So tragic.

PolkaDotPorridge · 05/10/2026 20:20

Watching the sentencing now. Surely life, no appeals, no parole.

Livingthebestlife · 05/10/2026 22:35

Those statements from the children 😭😭😭 it does sound like there is more we don't know about.

I'm just confused as to why her sister kept saying she forgave him 😲 like how could you forgive a monster like that.

Well ahe said because she didnt wamt to live her life in bitterness which i do understand. It was a lovely statement. The statements from the daughters were heart breaking. He got what he deserved but it's clear he will appeal. I do womder if someone else was involved. Hope did he have time to hide the gun so well no one ever found it?

It was the “yet” he repeated, about the things he couldn’t do, like he thought he would get out. The family were incredibly brave and the Judge was amazing. It’s just crazy to me that AB walks away scot free after those messages at one point urging him to “just do it when he said about killing his wife, one of the many times.

@Livingthebestlifewhat do you mean about more we don’t know, that they knew?

Shloopie · 28/09/2026 15:28

Yeah, that’s what got me. The sheer hypocrisy of them.

And then Caleb lamenting that he won’t be able to bring up his dd to be women in Christ - well, nah, because you’re in prison for murdering their mother, you stupid tit.

the poor dd.

Angrybird76 · 06/10/2026 08:12

I saw this morning that he 'schooled' the girls on what to say. What k don't understand is if the side piece was involved, why doesn't he say?

Dobbing her in won't help him, it would confirm his guilt.

His whole plan is laughable. It could not be more obvious it was him. Smashing the door outwards, a burglar who shoots a sleeping person in the head (why?), using his own gun. It really didn't take Miss Marple.

Agree accept for the missing gun. How did he have time to hide it so well?

They can't search every inch of ground within, say, 300 metres and he could run 300m in a few minutes. So I can only conclude he was able to hide it somewhere on the night while the situation was in confusion and his tracking watch was off.

Unless he had time in the days following the initial crime.

"My wife has been shot twice in the head", what a moron. Even the coroner didn't know that until he'd shaved her head.
