I have just moved house if that helps! So household good but could also be clothes or make up etc - I don't have much money so am wondering what is best use of this voucher?

But if you spend it on groceries in Waitrose, that frees up £90 that you can spend wherever you like. So you don't have to worry about something being more expensive than you'd normally buy, because you're free to spend the money anywhere.

This is a good point! I think there's something weird going on in my head about 'permission' to buy something with a voucher I wouldn't normally. Like I don't NEED a bedspread, I just want one. And don't have much disposable income. If that makes sense :)

Then Definitely use the voucher on food and spend the saved cash on something you wouldn’t normally splurge on. You don’t need permission!

I would wait for Black Friday etc and in meantime think about what I would really love.

Most of my bedding I Hve bought from M&S or TK Max

If you free money up by using it for food perhaps a Neom mini pod diffuser (I’m aware that JL may sell them but Neom will probably have better offers on it ?)

Perfume - I often buy the Chanel perfume I like from JL when they have 15% or 20% off

AlwaysExtraHot · 22/09/2026 14:32

I want and need a new kitchen knife, so I'd go for that.

MiddleAgedDread · 22/09/2026 15:28

An air fryer?

PigletJohn · 22/09/2026 15:40

Nice jumper

And keep an eye on the sales.

Thanks all. Will look at lamps. Money is not super tight but not abundant either so I'd like something that will last. Was thinking of a bedspread/quilt but they all seem quite ordinary and £90! £200 for the nice ones.

(If anyone knows anywhere to get good value bedspreads that would be a separate thing!)

Cushions , towels so.much to choose from I'd just go to the store and see what I fancy bloody love John Lewis 😍 enjoy

ThreadGuardDog · 22/09/2026 17:49

I’d go food shopping for Christmas at Waitrose. Apologies for using the C word in September !!

Madcats · 22/09/2026 18:04

Best bit of kit I have from John Lewis is their glass bowl mini food-chopper £29.
Possibly useless if you don’t batch cook.

is your voucher like a giftcard, or do you need to spend it all at once?

I kitted DD out with bedding from Dunelm, but I’d also look at M&S or IKEA.

At home, we have White Co and Soak & Sleep (not sure of prices these days).

Homesense for bedding had some beautiful high thread count bedding from there

MrsMoastyToasty · 22/09/2026 18:13

Bras. As I'm large of boobage then JL is one of the few places I can get my cup size.

RNApolymerase · 22/09/2026 18:15

Sometimes they have good discounts on household stuff. I had a voucher to spend last year and put it towards a new vacuum cleaner which was already reduced. Not very exciting but my old one was on its last legs so was something I would have needed to buy shortly anyway.

Thegirlwhowent · 22/09/2026 18:17

Don't know if £95 is enough, but I'd like a wool duvet. Friends tell me they're fabulous so maybe I'd put some money towards it as well.

Their coffee machine is the best we’ve ever owned. It’s £25 which is astonishing because it’s such good quality and has lasted us years https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-automatic-drip-filter-coffee-machine-stainless-steel/p115589552.

also love their bin https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-2-section-recycling-bin-with-handles-40l/grey/p5971629

I've got a similar bin and lots of people have admired it and asked where I got it from. (It was somewhere online 10 years ago so I can't give them an answer.)

Jamtomorrowneverjamtoday · 22/09/2026 18:45

Duvet and pillow set
I like the linen ones

Portmore · 22/09/2026 18:49

The own brand Egyptian cotton high thread count bed linen is worth the price.

Or get ahead for Xmas - lots of the range is out already - a nice beauty advent calendar maybe? Or any gifts you can get ahead

Mumdiva99 · 22/09/2026 18:51

Get the bedspread if that will.make you happy.
I would like to get something a little nicer than I have already that I will use every day - e.g. a set of 6 matching mugs, or a matching set of towels, or matching underwear!! Actually a good bra and pants is nearly £90 these days.

I actually want a cordless hoover for getting up every day spills so it would pay for half of that.

Or treat yourself to some new ear rings.

CocoPops39616 · 22/09/2026 18:56

Their white bath sheets

Lararoft · 22/09/2026 18:56

I don’t go to JL often but I did buy a good Bose Bluetooth speaker from the Poole store, it was £100 at the time, the quality is amazing and my neighbours think so too lol!!

I also looked round the Southampton store recently & saw they had the Coach Tabby bags which I love, if I had a £95 voucher I would keep it and save up the rest of the amount of money needed to put towards one of those. It is a luxury item admittedly.

HollyhocksandPeons · 22/09/2026 19:26

DeedlessIndeed · 22/09/2026 09:46

I do like their towels and bedding, and think an amazing nights sleep is the best thing to spend your money on.

But I actually think the quality might have dropped a touch in recent years.

I do love their hungarian goose pillows though, you could get one of those.

Sorry JL are scammers now, their Hungarian goose pillows are made in ....China. I bought their 'Hungarian' goose mattress topper for a dc and was shown 'made in China' label.

Dilemma999 · 23/09/2026 06:33

Good quality towels. I did this and they have lasted years (go for a darker colour). Or high thread count sheets.

Sunbringer · 23/09/2026 08:11

Leather high vamp ballet flats.

PrimaniTu · 23/09/2026 10:22

How about clothing or a nice handbag, costume jewellery, trainers, expensive perfume, nice make up etc Personally, I wouldn’t buy a household item I’d buy something lovely just for me.
