Is it still really warm and humid/muggy where you are? I am so fed up of being sweaty and a little bit sticky all the time, oh and not to forget the ridiculous frizzy hair! I have a horrible feeling that although the temps are due to drop, it’s still going to feel horribly humid and autumn will become the new extended summer!

Yes it’s so humid and sticky today! There’s a breeze occasionally but I can’t wait for actual rain

murasaki · 18/08/2026 16:03

Yes, grey and muggy here. No real breeze to speak of.

tinyspiny · 18/08/2026 16:03

Yep , grey and muggy here , hoping for some rain tomorrow / Thursday .

murasaki · 18/08/2026 16:08

If it could wait until Thursday that'd be nice! The one day it's really predicted for me is tomorrow and of course that's the one day my sister and her kids are in town for the day....haven't seen them since Xmas...

So my rain dance is temporarily on **hold.

EasternStandard · 18/08/2026 16:09

Yes

UncomfortableSilence · 18/08/2026 16:09

Yes very, just went for a walk thinking it’s a bit cooler and I’m bloody sweating.

I don’t think there’s really any rain forecast, what is looks like just a bit of drizzle in the early hours for the next few days - I think you safely put the rain dance off!

To be fair it's only a 30% chance, but knowing my luck....

And that's the highest we've seen for months!

I went out in a sweatshirt at 6am thinking I wouldn’t be too warm as it was so grey, and within 5 mins I was sweating!

yep, so over it

MagicThanks · 18/08/2026 16:16

It’s cooled down definitely but now grey and muggy.

TeddyBeans · 18/08/2026 16:18

Grey and muggy here but a bit of a breeze forming now which is glorious!

I think I can just feel it starting now too, thank goodness!

Yes, the breeze is picking up a little here too. Much appreciated.

Lentilcakes · 18/08/2026 17:06

It’s not as hot today but still muggy.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 18/08/2026 17:21

In South East Essex and the first thing I noticed today was the warm wind. It now feels just as hot as it did last week but because it's cloudy I didn't dress for heat.

Yeah there seems to be little relief even with the temperature drop, and I’m still struggling at night and need the fan in to sleep.

Yep, it’s horrible, really wish we’d have a downpour and fresh air afterwards.

Oh god yes, and a good dose of petrichor, it should be epic when it finally rains.

socks1107 · 18/08/2026 17:59

Yes it’s very muggy today. The real heat has been replaced by a muggy feeling and a sweaty heat. Never happy are we 🤣

DinoLil · 18/08/2026 18:19

I'm in the SE and had three drops of rain this morning. I actually missed it, it was nothing! But dear lord, the humidity afterwards was unbearable. Apparently it was 82%

TeddyBeans · 19/08/2026 08:42

We have a lovely steady downpour this morning! The rain radar looks good for most of the SE - Hope you're all enjoying a bit of refreshment as well!

I woke at 4am to the sound of the rain and the glorious smell! However, still so humid when I went out for my walk at 6, but I’m enjoying it whilst it lasts especially as a heatwave in September has been predicted 😖 I honestly feel like stomping my foot and having a tantrum 🤣

Horrendously muggy the last two days but this morning feels much fresher. I know there’s more heat predicted but let’s hope this little break delivers some significant rain at least. Enjoying today so far!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/08/2026 08:59

We actually had rain last night (outer SW London) - the first for many weeks. Enough to,leave big puddles on garage roofs, and there’s a lovely fresh smell outside.

Hallelujah! But more please…🙏
