Just had my birthday & next year it'll be the big
5-0, 😁 so am looking for 50 do-able things to do in that year.

I have a few ideas of my own but welcome suggestions.

Thanks

Visit somewhere that is the setting for a book you've loved. Depending on budget, the world is your oyster, Australia for The Dressmaker or Whitby for Dracula!

Try a new food each week, could be a herb or an entire recipe.

Make something for your house: a piece of art, cushion, coffee table!

Work colleague did this, but it was 60 things for 60th birthday. She had things like drive a tractor and appear on TV.

Do an abseil
Indoor sky diving
Zoo experience where you feed tigers/ giraffes/ animal of choice
Climb three tallest mountains in the UK

You ould try some free things like do a sea swim, watch the sunrise, do a fitness challenge, hike up the nearest mountain summit - some nice little personal moments.

Or if you wanted some more expensive things you could do a European weekend city break, or trying out a Michelin starred restuarant, or flying to see your favourite band in concert, or seeing a show in the West End etc.

I suppose it depends on the time/ energy/ money you have to put into it. Is it like a ‘do one thing a week’ sort of set up, or try to cross a few things off at once.

I wouldn’t be too set on getting everything done, as you might end up stressed and not enjoying it, more like a nice opportunity to do things you haven’t done before.

Oh I love this idea!

im 40 next year but with a toddler and new baby, and virtually no babysitting but I’d love any easy simple ideas for this!

happy 50th OP

Go to a dark sky area and go stargazing.
Swim at a waterfall
Get up early and go somewhere beautiful to watch a sunrise
Try kayaking or paddle boarding

I had a 50 things at 50 list, I did quite a few but then it turned into 50 things to do in my 50’s, I’m 59 and even though I’ve done most of them, it looks dangerously close to being a 50 things to do from 50 list, lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions, some great ideas here! 😁

DH wanted to do this but we soon ran out of steam! One thing he enjoyed was going round the Houses of Parliament.
