Hobby ideas

Hello all,

I've recently changed jobs to one that is much less mentally demanding than my previous job. I love this job, but I'm actually not loving the brain space I now have. I read a lot, do crosswords etc, started a language on duolingo, but I'm needing something more. I've recently finished a masters too, so that's had a massive impact on the amount of free time i have.
I need something I can do at home, due to childcare. Any great hobby ideas?

I read and workout at home. Do those count as hobbies? Both can be done around childcare.

I bought my weights from aldi/lidl/decathlon.

Online Scrabble.

Cross stitch is very calming and kits are inexpensive.

Find an online Bookclub.

Get a skipping rope and exercise at home. .

This might sound daft but what did you enjoy when you were aged about 10?
A lot of what I enjoy is basically the same as what I enjoyed as a child - making doll clothes for example.

They definitely count as hobbies @Doodledoggle
I run a couple of times a week and do weights. I think i just have this extra hour or so each night where I think I need something more mentally taxing. I am prone to bouts of depression and always feel better when I have something to really think about - tv isn't quite cutting it in that way, although the time to do that too is nice!

Cross stitch is a good idea. A more mindful activity than I originally was considering, but would be fun.

I love that way of thinking! Drawing would be it. An online art class must exist?
