When I heard what happened to the child actress in ‘All Dogs Go to Heaven’ (Judith Barsi) something broke in me. I sobbed my absolute heart out 💔

FullLondonEye · 12/08/2026 15:34

That I'm looking forward to my parents dying.

Soitshoteh · 12/08/2026 15:39

Your partner should not be automatically prioritised over your platonic relationships/ friendships. Many women are not great friends because of this.

Related to this - having emotional responses to celebrities lives (but not saying it’s the same thing or why you had this reaction ) : I have more mental parasocial ‘relationships’ with famous people than I would admit out loud . I’m fully aware that these are my constructed personas for these people rather than who they probably actually are , but ‘they’ are very active in my imagination , and sometimes their real reality and lives in the real world cross over with my imagined relationship with them so I’ll have an intense emotional to things that happen to them in the ‘real’ world .

I loooved lockdown!

chipsticksmammy · 12/08/2026 17:08

I loved lockdown. Let’s go back to waving on Zoom quizzes once a week.

‘You’re thick, a gobshite and delusional. Yes you’ll make an amazing manager, go apply for the managers job’ 😂

Absolutly no way on earth you’ll get it, so please take down the office vision board, task rota and check sheet you’ve put up. You can’t manage a poo let alone a team…. It’s all incorrect, you’ve stuffed up the hours and days. Just because you bought a new notepad doesn’t make you amazing.

ANNNNDDD BREATH.

You have no authority Jackie ! Was that a teams thing over lockdown at some council meeting ?
Cant remember her surname

Jackie Weaver 😂I think it was Handforth Community Council?

I can’t remember my kids names, but can remember that. Bloody menopause.

I know what you mean but no, in this case I hadn’t thought anything about the film or anyone in it and just came across a news article about what happened to this poor girl, absolutely harrowing. There were warning signs during the filming (that by modern standards would have straight up alerted child protection, massive red flags) such as her breaking down and crying inconsolably when singing a song about home. The poor girl was suffering unimaginable things at the hands of her father who I believe was also abusing the mother. She was murdered before the film was finished 😢 the final song, the one she is heard singing ‘with’ Burt Reynolds is port mortem 🥺 he could barely get through it apparently. It is just so gut wrenching

Hadenough2022 · 12/08/2026 20:16

I also enjoyed the first lockdown.
I would like to go off and live in a place by myself if not indefinitely certainly for some time. I’ve just started to realise how my entire adult life has been putting other people first and frankly I’ve had enough

Oh that’s terrible ! Although I’m curious why you wouldn’t say that outloud (no judgement or challenge !) sounds like I totally justified empathetic response to me

Sayoutloud · 12/08/2026 21:52

The older I get, the less empathetic and tolerant I become. I think I used to be quite a good listener but nowadays most of the time I just want to tell people to get a grip and stop moaning. Including family and friends.

aliceofyork · 12/08/2026 22:16

I’m fucking sick of paying shedloads of tax to fund the lazy workshy bastards who scam the benefit system every single day. And have kids they raise to scam the system who I now also have to pay for because they are too fucking feckless to use contraception and the fucking government gives them more money for having more bloody children.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 13/08/2026 00:09

I go on more holidays than I would like. Dh is obsessed and always has to have something planned. He does most of the organising and it's always complicated so I end up helping out a bit. The constant planning and packing stresses me. He is always sending me fecking links. He will not holiday domestically but we do a few weekends away. Between these and winter holiday, summer holiday, Easter city break and Autumn mini break there is always something in the pipeline. I know people think I'm very lucky to afford it so can't say it aloud without sounding like a spoilt brat.

When you have children, everything you do from then on has to be for their benefit. The only reason they are here is because of a decision you made. You cannot look to your own happiness to influence your decisions if that is not the optimum outcome for the child; if that means you can't do the job you want, or you have to be a single parent, then so be it

rottierottierottie · 13/08/2026 13:15

That I take Reta and it's worked far better for me than MJ did (And continues to work really well)

-No it's not illegal (Not approved and illegal are different things)
-No I haven't grown a third arm or turned green
-Yes it's legit Reta and has been confirmed as such when I went for a blood test

But everyone hears that you take things bought from the internet and lose their minds over it so I keep it quiet

EnglishBreakfastTea1 · 13/08/2026 13:23

I had to go in during lockdown because I work for TfL & we were supporting key workers. I really enjoyed it because there were less humans doing silly things like falling down stairs or trespassing on the track. I read a lot of books.

I am in a house buying chain right now and I’d just like to say the house buying procedure in England is total bullshit and WHY doesn’t the solicitor ever return my emails?

overstimulatedattheairport · 13/08/2026 13:31

Not everyone suits a middle part in their hair.

Stanislas · 14/08/2026 11:40

Totally agree with Dontlletmedownbruce. DH is ever happy unless he is somewhere else . When he is somewhere else he still has to see where he could go from there.
He is now packing for next week but I have got to help him decide what to pack. I can feel my blood pressure rising. He is wearing a shirt that I had had washed and ironed as part of the selection he had chosen to go on holiday. He then picks up the remaining shirts and puts them in the suitcase, pressing them well down.i should laugh but I can’t .
