Right limb issues.. panicking

Im 43 and have been getting some mild perimenopause symptoms. Recently I’ve noticed a slight tremor in my right hand that goes away when I move it. It is also a bit shakey when doing things like drinking water. Then the last couple of days my right foot turns slightly inwards when at rest.

I did request a GP appointment but could take a while. In the meantime I am really anxious and spiralling.. seems to be classic early presentation of Parkinson’s. Anyone had similar?

I can understand why you’re worried, but try not to jump straight to Parkinson’s. Tremor has lots of possible causes, including stress, anxiety, tiredness, medication and hormonal changes. A one-sided tremor can occur with Parkinson’s, but it can also occur with other conditions, and the foot turning inwards needs assessing too. You’ve done the right thing requesting a GP appointment. In the meantime, try not to Google symptoms.

Get your B12 levels checked OP. I had this (and twitching etc) and it was low B12

Was it right side only @Lugol ?

Is it possible to call your GP practice and see if they have any cancellations, or if they can fit you in? If it persists, you can call NHS 111.
Have you had any recent changes? Are you on any meds? If you are, please check the side effects with a pharmacist.

Get your b12 levels checked.

I have nerve issues on my left side - all my headaches, numbness etc is on my left side. B12 deficiency can cause all sort of nuerological symptoms

Greatexpect · 13/08/2026 23:33

Thanks. The gp can’t see me for a month. Really terrified

Can you get a private blood test locally?

Get your Vitamin B12 level checked.

I think some pharmacies offer this now - and there are even home testing kits.

Try not to worry, this could be many things that are easily resolved.

Are you thinking Parkinson's Disease as it runs in your family or because you associate it with a tremor?

I haven't read all the replies, could you be eating less than normal due to the weather - and this is effecting your blood sugar level perhaps? Are you staying well hydrated?

OP just get a B12 spray and give it a go and see if that helps.

I went from being bruised all over one side of my body from stumbling into door frames to being semi functional with a few sprays.

Or get a B12 test from a pharmacy.

But the NHS threshold for B12 is pitiful and in spite of the fact B12 injections are cheap as chips, they won't do more than one jab a month for three months.

If it IS B12 that is the issue then get yourself on Healthunlocked on the pernicious anaemia forum and they will help you better than your GP will.

Either way get a test done because if not treated the symptoms are progressively permanent if it is B12.
