What's your favourite bread to make?

I've got a batch of dough on the rise now, just for plain white bread, nothing fancy. I like It's simplicity though.
It's nice to be able to take a few basic ingredients, and then turn it into something tasty and useful.
I also like the idea that you are following the same basic ritual humans have been doing for thousands of years.
I sometimes make a sweet bread, or seed bread, or a coffee bread like pulla.
If you bake, what's your favourite type to make? Just cause I'm nosy!

Is that the same as soda bread?

As I understand it soda bead is made with white flour and wheaten bread is the same thing made with wholemeal and some porridge oats, but I'm not cultural expert, I experienced it on holiday on the Causeway Coast and Googled the recipie when I got home 😆

I love to make an enriched dough, with eggs and sugar to make sweet rolls or splits as they are known in Cornwall. We eat them with jam and cream and a pot of tea. Lush.

I'm not a baker but I made some kavrig the other week following a trip to Sweden and trying it there. It was delicious and easy. Looking at the soda bread recipes, does the buttermilk act in the same way as yogurt to replace the yeast in some way?

95% of the bread I make is 100% wholemeal, to exactly the same recipe every single time. It’s tedious, but DS can’t eat most of what’s in the shops and there are no suitable pre-made pizza bases, so I use it for that too. Generally two batches per week.

So frankly anything else is a plus! White bread is always a cheerful bake - it’s so easy by comparison! It’s so much easier to handle!

My favourite to make and then eat is challah. Absolutely delicious, but awful for the size of my middle.

Embarrassed to say, we have finished two of the four loaves already! There are only three adults here

Irish brown bread as you just mix the ingredients and plop it in the tin and into the oven it goes. No proving or kneading or waiting around.

This sounds wonderful could you share the recipe please?
